Itanagar-  CoSAAP  suspended indefinite strike 

Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh have decided to withdrawn their  indefinite pen down and tool down strike in reciprocating the chief minister’s letter and discussion with the Chief Secretary . CoSAAP has decided to suspend the on-going non-cooperation movement from the afternoon of 21st March’2017 in the larger interest of the State, General Public, Businesses Communities and other stakeholders and with a view to create congenial atmosphere for discussion with the  chief minister on all the issues towards right and logical conclusion. Further, CoSAAP has resolved that in case of failure to materialise the demands in the meeting with the chief minister  on 29th March’2017, the indefinite non-cooperation movement in the form of PEN /TOOLS DOWN will be resumed from 3oth march 2017.

Tezu- Dead Birds posted, FIR lodged

The Lohit forest department on Sunday filed a FIR against some ‘unknown miscreants’ at Tezu Police Station for posting photo dead birds and air rifles which are believed to be used during the hunting. The police are on a manhunt for the ‘miscreants’. Lohit DC Danish Ashraf said that under the recent guidelines issued by the ministry of home affairs, one needs to acquire licenses from the district administration to possess air rifles and guns. He directed the gaon burahs to take a note on the rampant misuse of airguns. In a press release, DFO S Manyu today said that such wanton killing is banned under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 (amended up to 2006) and can lead to imprisonment up to seven years. He also urged the public to report any wildlife and forest related offences to the forest department while assuring to keep the informers name a secret.‘The department will reward the informer as per the approved departmental rates in case of information leads to seizure of wildlife meat,’ Manyu added.

Tawang-  Blood Donation cum Awareness Camp

First ever Voluntary Blood Donation cum Awareness Camp was organised at District Hospital Tawang  jointly by the Department of Information & Public Relations and District Health Society, Tawang under the Field Publicity Campaign. Chief Guest of the programme EAC Lobsang Tsetan hailed the nobility attached with the cause and said that no donation can be as precious as donating ones blood. Brigadier MP Singh, Commander 190 Mtn Bde who was also present said that nothing can be better than giving life to somebody and exhorted  people to come forward to donating organs as well for the cause of humanity. Speaking on the occasion,  DMO, Tawang Dr. Wangdi Lama informed that the Blood Bank Tawang has been made fully functional and that a data base of hospital staffs consisting of necessary  details would also be prepared for  efficient management during  crisis.

Changlang – AR apprehended NSCN (R) militant

The Changlang Battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended the Revenue Secretary of NSCN (R) Self Styled Captain Kampong , residence of New Shallang villege  along with his bodyguard Longkam Tungkhang residence of  Jongsum village  from Changlang town on Monday morning. Acting on a tip off , the security forces nabbed the militants from Changlang with two pistol, two magazines, seven live rounds and a sophisticated radio set. Kampong has been the kingpin of commercial insurgency scavenging on the hard earned money of the locals in Changlang district by unabated forceful extortion. This breakthrough in addition to causing a major leadership upheaval in the outfit could severely dent the extortion nexus and bring relief to the harassed population in the district. Both the cadres are being handed over to Changlang Police Station.

Pasighat – Death Anniversary of Lt Kabang Borang Observed 

5th death anniversary of renowned businessman and former Minister Lt Kabang Borang was observed at his resident  amidst relatives, Bogong Banggo Kebang President Oyem Dai, DMO Dr. M. Perme, KEK Secretary General Anning Borang, Tokbom Perme. People on the occasion paid floral tributes, offered prayer and recalled the contributions of the great leader. Borang was born in 1939 at Ayeng village of East Siang and took last breath on March-21, in the year 2012. He was the first Agency Council (NEFA) member of the state and started his political career as a member of Siang Zilla Parishad in 1969. Later, he joined active politics and was elected to the first Legislative Assembly in March 1990 and retained for two consecutive elections.

Itanagar- Governor Condoles of Bulgarian Tourist 

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland  P.B. Acharya has condoled the tragic demise of Ms Maria Dimitrovaour, a Bulgarian national near Sela Pass in Tawang District. Pained by the heartbreaking accident, the Governor said that each and every tourist coming to the State is an Ambassador of peace and progressing Arunachal Pradesh and Tourism Arunachal. Therefore, demise of a tourist is not only a tragic loss to the bereaved family but also to the people of the State. The Governor has also conveyed his appreciation to the Indian Army for the rescue operation. He has asked the District Administrations of Tawang and West Kameng Districts to be on alert and develop mechanism to address such unfortunate incidents.

Siang – Meeting of Anganwadis and ASHAS

The first in the series of a sequence of meetings to be held for the collective working of Anganwadis and ASHAS for the whole of Siang District was kick started at Kaying for the Kaying-Payum ICDS project.  The meeting was chaired by Rahul Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Siang amidst the presence of a host of other officers and PRI members. Altogether 56 AWWs,  56 AWHs and 25 ASHAs from Kaying and Payum attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner while urging the AWWs and ASHAs to perform their duties sincerely stated that cash awards would be constituted for the best performers while penalty would be meted out to dissuade non-performance. Attributing them as the foundation on which a strong health and education sector rests, he called upon them to become agents of development and help in improving the health and education scenario in the district. He assured full cooperation and assistance of the district administration in this endeavour.
