Ziro- Mission Winter Gift

Bomdila- LED TV distributed

All Arunachal Pradesh building and construction welfare board Govt of Arunachal Pradesh has distributed 58 numbers of LED TV to 58 labours registered under All Arunachal Pradesh workers Union.  Zonal secy AAPWU Pem Drakpa Jamchenpa has requested to all the labours to registered under All Arunachal Pradesh workers Union as much as possible and explain the benefits avail to labourer by central Government.

Changlang- NSCN  cadre arrested

In a joint operation, the 14th Assam Rifles from Margherita (Assam) and Namtok police of Changlang district apprehended an alleged NSCN (IM) cadre today. Further on search of the house a list of arms and ammunitions and war like stones were recovered, which included one 0.22 pistol, one magazine, 0.22 live round – four nos, one each of Mobile Zen and Adhaar Card.

Tezu-  Meeting on Immunisation

Lohit Deputy Commissioner cum District Health Society Chairman Karma Leki has asked all medical officer in-charges of CHCs and PHCs to provide realistic data in micro plan for successful implementation of the upcoming Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC), the pre-phase for which is undergoing in the district in full swing. He was addressing a meeting of District Task Force on Immunisation held at the DC’s conference hall here today.

Pasighat- Endangered vulture species

Three critically endangered vulture species were re-recorded in the Daying Ering Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary (DEMWS) at Pasighat recently by a team of researchers from the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU). The team recently conducted a survey on population of vultures in different parts of the state, wherein the team found the critically endangered Long-billed vulture (Gyps indicus), Slender-billed vulture (Gyps tenuirostris) and Oriental White-rumped vulture (Gyps bengalensis).

Itanagar-  AAPSU demands

The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has urged the Union and the State governments to expedite the process for appointment of a regular director for NERIST at the earliest. It further said that to press for early appointment of Director, the union will take out a rally from the NERIST to the tennis court in Itanagar on 24 January. ‘It is a matter of serious concern that a premier technical institute like the NERIST is running without a regular director for so long and the authority concerned is busy in making lame excuses, instead of doing away with the problems of the student fraternity’, the Union said while expressing its displeasure at the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
