Tawang- Awareness camp on Right to Information Act

Awareness camp on Right to Information Act 2005 was conducted on Thursday  at Zomkhang Hall  by Arunachal Information Commission in collaboration with District Administration Tawang . Dr. Joram Begi, Chief Information Commissioner while giving the opening remark on the implementation of RTI Act, said that the objective of the landmark  Act is to empower the citizens amd promote transparency and accountability.    Terming Corruption as the biggest enemy of the welfare of the people, he reiterated on the need to contain the same and said that the same would greatly affect the Index  of happiness. He also cautioned against the misuse of the said Act and asked the officers to act as watchdog . However, the Chief Information Commissioner also exhorted the public authorities to act in transparent manner by following laid down norms and procedures.

Yupia- Training for Workers 

3 days Induction Training for all the newly appointed Multi Purpose Worker under Papum  pare District which started on 7th march 2017 in batch wise manner concluded successfully with awarding  completion certificate on 16th march 2017 at ZPC Hall Yupia.  On the Opening day of sessions, State Programme Officer-cum-Jt. DHS(NVBDCP) Dr.Alok Yirang and State  Nodal Officer for Malaria Dr K.T Mullung exhorted on various aspect of National Frame work for Malaria  Elimination and about IMCP -3 Programme Goal, Intervention & Strategies. DMODr(Mrs) Tasso Kampu called upon all the MPWs to be sincere and dedicated towards discharging their duties for what they are  expected.

Itanagar-  Guv Welcomes New India vision

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh P.B. Acharya has written to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcoming the ‘New India’ vision. The Governor said that along with rest of the country, the people of the State are very inspired by his vision of ‘New India’.  He said that providing opportunities to the poor and reducing the burden of middle class to enable them to excel to their potential and aspiration will be the foundation of the new India. The dreams of the under-35 and women power and aspirations of women will be fulfilled. The Governor emphasised that the vision of New India with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ will definitely reinforce the spirit of cooperative federalism, which in turn strengthens the country. The Governor pointed that the people of the Frontier and Strategic State of Arunachal Pradesh are aware of Prime Minister’s goodwill gestures towards them.

Itanagar- Higio Gungtey assault case 

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Shri P.B. Acharya is pained to know the criminal assault on Master Higio Gungtey, an undergraduate student at a private university at Bangalore in Karnataka. The Governor said that such irresponsible and uncivilised behaviour of a few needs to be condemned by one and all. It is against the very spirit of National Character. The Governor had telephonic talk directly and took up the issue with his counterpart, Hon’ble  Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, Governor of Karnataka. He requested Vala to give special attention towards these problems and challenges of students from North East, particularly Arunachal Pradesh, which is a strategic border State. The Governor Acharya also spoke the Chief Secretary of Karnataka Subhash Chnadra Khuntia and directed him to take immediate and strong action against the culprits.

Ziro- Workshop on Digital India 

SBI Ziro in collaboration with the district administration conducted a one day workshop on digital India and cashless transaction at DC Conference Hall on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by ADC  Nending Chatung. EAC Lod Taker in his deliberation on Digital India and cashless transaction highlighted various applications that could be used for cashless transaction. Emphasizing on the need to seed the AADHAR numbers with the bank accounts, he informed that the most important benefit of seeding the number is receiving social welfare scheme payments and other benefits from various schemes run by government of India like Direct Benefits Transfer for LGP cylinder subsidy, MNREGA, tribal welfare schemes, scholarships, subsidy for commodity products and country wide access. This ensures that the government money reaches to the genuine beneficiaries.

Seppa- District Task Force on Immunization

District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) of East Kameng district on Wednesday convened a review meeting at Kameng Hall, Seppa to take stock of the status and target achieved during the 1st and 2nd rounds and simultaneously, chalk out a strategy for implementation of ensuing 3rd round of Phase-4 of Mission Indradhanush (MI-4) under National Health Mission. The 1st and 2nd rounds of MI-4 were organized earlier in the district from 7th to 13th February, 2017 and 7th to 13th March, 2017, respectively. And, the proposed 3rd round of MI-4 is scheduled to be organized from 7th to 13th April, 2017 in the entire district. Understanding the difficulty being faced due to rough terrains in far-flung areas, East Kameng DC cum Chairman (DHS) Rajeev Takuk appreciated the health department for successful implementation of the 1st and 2nd rounds and exhorted them to work with same zeal and vigour to achieve the target of the remaining rounds of MI-4.

Yingkiong- Eviction Drive 

The Administration under the supervision of ADC Tuting Kabit Apang carried out eviction drive and demolished illegal structures & fencing within Tuting Township yesterday. The illegal occupants nearby SBI premises by erecting fencing were also demolished. ADC Kabit Apang cautioned the public of Tuting sub-division not to occupy or encroach Govt. land illegally within the Town. He expressed the need for posting of Land Management staff at the one of remotest & oldest Administrative headquarters.

Pasighat- Agro based Training Programme 

Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak today inaugurated a two-days training program on agro-based and cottage industry at the conference hall of College of Horticulture, Pasighat. The training is being organized by Ponung Ering Angu, DD (ICDS) and Inty Ering, Dr. NG Pillo, Dr. K Momin and Dr. RC Shakywar are imparting the training as resource persons. The sessions will cover topics like food preservation, flower preservation mushroom cultivation and preservation, candle making etc and fifty rural women trainees from in and around Pasighat and Mebo are participating. Speaking on the occasion, DC Tatak appreciated the intervention of DD(ICDS) in the arena of women’s empowerment adding that women in rural areas should steadily make strides in economic development, entrepreneurship and wider social changes through collective action and peer support.

Ziro-  workshop on Tax Deduction at Source 

A workshop on Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) was organized by the Department of Tax and Excise, Lower Subansiri at DC Conference hall, Hapoli today. Chairing the meeting, ADC shri Nending Chatung while lauding the efforts of the Tax and Excise department in sensitizing the officials on TDS, exhorted the HoDs present to use the opportunity to be well versed in accounts and tax deduction methods to later guide their subordinates. Supdt. Tax and Excise shri Punyo Yaje presented a PowerPoint on TDS. He dealt in length about the responsibilities and liabilities of the DDO’s, methods of calculation of taxable turnover, various forms in TDS and the percentage of works contracts etc. Emphasizing on the need to generate TAN (Tax Deduction account numbers) by all the DDOs, he also informed them the entire process of tax payment would be online to facilitate introduction of GST.

Ziro- Bandh declared as illegal 

District Magistrate, Lower Subansiri  Kemo Lollen , by an order U/S 144 cr .pc has declared the 12 hrs bandh call by All Lower Subansiri district Youth Association on 17th as illegal.  The order stating that such bandh calls causes untold misery and hardships to patients, students and business community in particular and the public at large, has directed the said organisation to refrain and desist from enforcing such bandh calls.  The order also stated that any damages or destruction to public or private properties shall be recovered from the bandh callers.  All business establishments and markets within Lower Subansiri have also been directed to remain open failing which their trading license will be liable to be suspended.
