Itanagar- CM and Dy CM  Extends Festival Greetings 

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has conveyed greetings and best wishes on occasion of pious Sangken, the festival of water, celebrated with religious fervour and fanfare by the Tai Khamptis of the state. Sangken is celebrated for three consecutive days and the main attraction of the festival is splashing clean water, which is the symbol of peace and purity. The images of Buddha are taken out for ceremonial bath. “Sangken, which is the New Year festival of our Khampti brethrens, is a celebration of the good things that happened in the passing year and to celebrate life with new hopes and prayers in the coming year,” Khandu said in a message this evening. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the joyous celebration would usher in new era of peace and prosperity for the state and wellbeing of all its citizens.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has extended warm greetings and good wishes to all the people of state on auspicious occasion of Sangken festival, Bihu and Good Friday. He hoped that these festivals will usher peace and prosperity for all. Let the sacred traditions and the festivity associated with this festival herald a happy and prosperous year ahead, the message read. May these festivals bind each one of us in fraternal love, goodwill and affection and inspire us to work for the unity, progress and well being of all.

Pasighat- Kaling Jerang Injured in a Road Accident

The Secretary General of People’s Party of Arunachal Kaling Jerang  injured when his vehicle collided with a dumper truck on Thursday. Along with Jerang few other children also sustained serious injuries admitted in general hospital Pasighat. Jerang was on the way from Itanagar to his home town, Pangin to see his ailing mother who also just returned from Guwahati after a medical treatment. Along with Jerang, his children, 3 sons and a daughter also sustained serious injury. One of the son’s hand has been broken while other children also sustained serious injuries. A case have been said to been registered in this connection but could be confirmed from police about the action taken yet. Local MLA Kaling Moyong and DC, Pasighat, Tamiyo Tatak besides many other political leaders and society heads have visited Jerang at Hospital and wished for his early recovery.

Pasighat- Kaling Moyong inspects progress of Civil Terminal at ALG 

MLA Kaling Moyong accompanied by DC East Siang, Tamiyo Tatak, on Thursday  inspected the progress of the much awaited Civil Terminal building, the completion of which will facilitate operation of commercial and passenger flights from the Pasighat ALG, fulfilling the long pending demand of the people of East Siang in particular and adjoining districts including neighboring Assam as a whole. Later, the MLA inspected the ongoing construction of bridge over Poglek river near Yagrung on PasighatLedum-Tene Road, funded under NLCPR. Terming the Poglek bridge project, as vital lifeline for smooth connectivity benefitting the people of the various villages under Bosing I and Bosing 2 including Mirem, Bilat, Ledum and Koyu-Korang, he instructed the contractor and executing agency PWD for ensuring quality of the works and to expedite the work for timely completion.

Roing- Digi Dhan Mela Concludes 

Lower Dibang Valley District Administration has organized concluding ceremony of 100 Digi Dhan Melas on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti here on Friday. Garlanding of the portrait of Dr. B.R Ambedkar and presentation on Digital transaction and technology was held at Dc’s conference Hall Roing. The programme was followed by the display of live telecast of Hon’ble P.M Narendra Modi’s programme. Speaking on the occasion smti Cheshta Yadav, I/C DC briefed on the contribution of DR. B.R Ambedkar in making constitution of India and informed that one of his greatest contribution was right to equality, where She said, we could live in liberty and which made us possible to avail every opportunities, programmes and policies of Government and are treated equality in the society. In an another occasion, under the directives shri Sanjay Kr Sain, S.P, Roing, Fire & Emergency Services, Roing carried out procession in the Roing town displaying the fire appliances/ fire tenders and correct methods of preventing fire related disasters. The programme was organized to mark the fire service week from 14th to 20th April, 2017.

Arunachal- State News in Brief 16 March 2017Pasighat- Meeting on Smart City Proposal

Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC) on Thursday held an appraisal meeting on Smart City Proposal (SCP) at the Pasighat Town Club. Member of core committee of Smart City Mission, Dr. Narmi Darang presented a detail report on final proposal (recently submitted to the Union Ministry of Urban Development) through power point presentation and held open house discussions in presence of local MLA Kaling Moyong, DC Tamiyo Tatak, retired bureaucrats, municipal councillors, senior leaders, officers, representatives of ABK and youths. Input received from the citizens like solar power project, smart public transport, intelligent water management, e-governance, sewage and sanitation, solid waste management, up-gradation of market area, Siang riverfront, area based redevelopment, retrofitting, urban mobility etc were included in the final proposal, appraised Dr. Darang during his presentation. Local MLA Kaling Moyong who took personal interest and closely monitored all developments asserted that Pasighat would be an example of a ‘Carbon Neutral City’ sustaining its cultural heritage, harmonious diversity of its human capital, green economics and technologies and pristine nature.
