Yupia- Mopin Festival Celebrated
Mopin festival 2017 celebrated with pomp and gaiety at Yupia today. The Festival is organised by Mopin Celebration Committee of Yupia comprising officers and staffs posted at Yupia. Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare Tai Kaye who attended the festival function as chief guest greeted the Galo brethrens on the occasion of Mopin festival and prayed the Donyi-Polo and Pinku Pinte to shower blessings on mankind for peace, progress and prosperity. He opined that there should be one multipurpose community hall at Yupia district headquarter which can be used for community based activities like festival or any other important official works.. Dr. Kampu Tasso DMO who was also also present on the occasion greeted the Galo community on occasion of Mopin Festival and said that Mopin is beautiful festival that bind the people together for harmonious living . Traditional cultural programmes were presented by various cultural groups of Yupia.
Pasighat- Mopin Festival Celebrated ta Pasighat
Galo community today celebrated Mopin festival with traditional gaiety at the Engo Takar Hall, Central Ganging, Pasighat by the Central Mopin Festival Celebration Committee (CMFCC), 2017. People from walks of life took part in the celebration with great enthusiasm and gutso. People exchanged greetings and presented traditional Popir-Dance and multi-color cultural program. Clad in their colorful traditional dresses, applied ‘Ette’ (rice flour) to fellow revelers’ faces like Holi to mark the festival. Local MLA Kaling Moyong, ABK Secretary General (Apex) Bodong Yirang and Loksabha MP Ninong Ering graced the occasion as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Special Guest respectively. Member of All India Handloom Board Tamat Gamoh, ABK (ES) executive members Okom Yosung, Tabung Ering, YT Burang, many prominent personalities and host officers, leaders and people from all walks of life also participated to rejoice in the celebration, signifying the unity in diversity.
Roing- Mopin Festival Celebrated at Roing
Mopin, the major festival of the Galo tribe celebrated the festival at Multipurpose Hall here today with traditional fervor and gaiety, festival goers in their traditional attires creating a mesmerizing sight at celebration sites. Attending as Chief Guest on the occasion Mutchu Mithi, Hon’ble MLA, Roing lauded the celebration committee for keeping core value of the festival and dedication towards their duty and responsibility in all round development of the district. While narrating the contribution of great leaders and bureaucrats from Galo community in development and progress of the state he termed the Galo Community as advance tribe of state. He also requested the Galo community especially, DDSE-cum- President of the celebration committee, Ego Doye to instilled good moral values in children and pass on their knowledge and wisdom through education to the other tribes residing in the district.
Itanagar- NEC Meeting
In a meeting convened today at North Eastern Council (NEC), Secretariat, the Draft Regional Plan for all round development of North Eastern Region prepared by NEC was discussed with various Regional Heads of Govt. of India Organizations. Representatives from various Govt. of India Organizations like ICAR, Ministry of Health, Airport Authority of India, NESAC, UGC, Ministry of Power, MSME, Sports Authority of India etc. took part in the meeting and deliberated on the draft regional plan. Chairing on the meeting Shri C.K. Das, Member, NEC emphasised on a sustainable regional plan for the North Eastern Region with input and proactive participation of various Govt. of India Organizations operating in the region as well as state governments. He also stressed on regular dialogue and interaction on development issues. Ram Muivah, Secretary, NEC welcomed the participants at the outset briefed them on NEC’s activities and coordinated the meeting.
Changlang- Ashish Kundra Visits various Project Sites
Commissioner(Finance) Ashish Kundra accompanied by Honourable MLA Tesam Pongte 53-North Changlang, Deputy Commissioner Wayong Khimhun, SP Changlang, Chief Engineer(Power), Chief Engineer(Hydropower), SE(Power), SE(Hydropower) along with HoD’s visited Tissu Micro Hydel over Tissu river and two ongoing major projects i.e Mini Secretariat and Water Treatment Plant at old Changlang. DC briefed the Commissioner about the ongoing developmental projects in the region.DC emphasized on delayed road project between Miao-Vijaynagar and requested Commissioner(finance) to seriously review the project again with the highest decision making authority. DC also informed the Commissioner about the delay in completion of VKV School and Rangfrah Govt. College Building. Commissioner while interacting with the HOD’s inform them about the various flagship programmes of the Govt and ask them to submit their project proposal in advance and to streamline the unfinished projects so that it can be completed soon. He also laid emphasis on promoting sports in the district so that the youth of the area can be weaned away from negative energies.
Seppa- Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy
With the hosting of constituency level events today here at Chayangtajo, the Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy for football and volleyball for both men and women begun in the district. At first, the trophy will be organized at constituency level at five different places of the district, viz., Chayangtajo, Bameng, Pampoli, Seijosa and Bana. The winners of constituency level of respective events will vie against each other in district level, which will be organized at District HQ Seppa. And finally, the winners of the district level will represent the district in the State level events. Earlier on Saturday last, the trophy was officially kicked off by East Kameng DC Rajeev Takuk here at Seppa in the presence of DSO i/c Ashok Sonam, ADI Nondo Doka, staffs and members of organizing committee, and host of officials.
