Tawang is all set to welcome the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. Thousands of people from different villages of the district and an estimated three thousand devotees from neighbouring Bhutan have already descended into the congested Tawang town hoping to catch a glimpse of the revered spiritual leader. The entire township has been decorated with colourful prayer flags and flowers while the roads are being repainted and drains cleared. The Tibetan and Indian flags fluttering at the Tawang Monastery There is an infectious positive atmosphere at the Tawang monastery, where Dalai Lama will stay.

Bomdila – Bomdila Welcomes Dalai Lama 

His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Arunachal Pradesh’s Bomdila on Tuesday evening and the whole town was bedecked to welcome the leader. Because of bad weather conditions His Holiness had to postpone his Tawang visit and thus proceed by road through Bomdila. The spiritual leader will visit the Tawang Monastery on 8th April before visiting the state capital Itanagar. Dalai Lama is visiting Arunachal Pradesh eight years after his last visit in 2009.

Itanagar- Guv extends warm wishes on the eve of Mopin Festival 

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland  Mr P.B. Acharya has extended his sincere greetings to people of the State on the festive occasion of Mopin Festival. He wished that the festivity ushers-in peace and prosperity in the State. In his message, the Governor said that Mopin is one of the most popular festivals of Galo Community, which reflects the rich cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. Similar to all of our Tribal festivals, Mopin festival is also based on agricultural activities and good harvest. It is observed as a prayer to Goddess of Prosperity, ‘Ane Mopin’. He expressed his hope that the celebration will bring prosperity and contentment not only to the community but also to the whole humanity.

Arunachal- State News in Brief,Itanagar- Khandu extends warm wishes on the eve of Mopin Festival 

Chief Minister Pema Khandu extended his warm wishes to people of Arunachal Pradesh, particularly the Galo community on eve of Mopin festival. Wishing the festival to usher in peace, brotherhood and prosperity in state, the Chief Minister said the festival is observed to invoke the blessings of Goddess Ane Mopin. He wished and prayed for good fortune, a bumper harvest and a prosperous new year. Appreciating the elegant dance of Popir, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the this festivity will go a long way in preserving and promoting the age-old cultural heritage.

Pasighat – AMSCC  Appeal  for  proper investigation of Katem Dai 

In a letter to Officer -in-Charge, Gorchuk Police Station, Guwahati today, the Adi Mising Student’s Coordination Committee (AMSCC), Guwahati led by President, Tushar Ngatey and General Secretary, Kenzing Yosung has appealed the police investigating the murder case of Late Katem Dai for proper investigation and examination of related evidences. The AMSCC in their letter to OC have urged the police to take some vital witnesses and evidences in counts which includes five eye witnesses to be examined, examination of unedited CCTV footage and examination of call detail record of victim’s three mobile numbers, Airtel, BSNL and Reliance JIO.

NF Railway introduces Cashless transactiontanagar- Workshop on Cashless Transaction 

One day workshop on digital payment was organized in Itanagar by the Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital complex in collaboration with lead Bank Manager, SBI and IMWA. The workshop commenced with the welcome speech of Jaspal Singh, Lead Bank Manager, SBI, Itanagar. Prince Dhawan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex addressing the jam packed crowd of 800 traders from Itanagar, spoke in detail the necessity of having cashless transactions in every merchant’s shop in the Itanagar market. He stated that, due to limitation of POS machine and network issue, some merchants are holding back from cashless transaction. Therefore, it is necessary that all the merchants are aware of the other options available for cashless transaction.  The main focus of the Workshop was these other options for cashless transaction such was SBI-Buddy, UPI (BHIM APPs) and USSD (UNSTRUCTURE SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE DATA).
