Dr Joram Aniya Tana, Hindi professor of DNGC & recipient of Bishwa Hindi Award, said PM Narendr Modi was speechless with the passing away of Atalji, but recited her self-composed poem – Atal tum atal rahoge yug yug tak atalgatha – showcasing his life and achievements to leave the gathering speechless. She also recited some patriotic poems of Atalji. She made a fervent appeal to all to introduce Atalji’s highly educative poems in all educational institutions.

Senior journalist Pradeep Kumar, in his self-composed poem – Kahan gaye aap – highlighted the unparallel achievement of Atalji while poems of Nirjuli VKV teachers Subhra Kanta Bhattacharya & Gyaneswar Kumar Mishra, AIR anchor Boke Bagra, RGU Hindi faculty Viswajeet Kumar Mishra and Chimpu VKV teacher Pankaj Kumar left the audience spell bound.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, in his address, said that the PMGSY roads initiated by Atalji had revolutionised connectivity in NE, Arunachal Pradesh in particular, by providing the much needed solace to the farmers.

“Atalji introduced PMGSY in 2000 when as RD Minister I used to hold review meeting in every district to expedite the road construction, he said and referred to senior journalist Pradeep Kumar for crediting Atalji for revolutionising   road connectivity in the country by PMGSY and Golden Quadrilateral.

Moreover, during Atalji’s tenure as PM, the GDP growth was very high at 8%; economy showed upward trend, compulsory free education for all in the age groups of 6 to 14 was introduced, he said to enlist few milestones of his achievements.

Present PM Narendra Modi has changed Look East to Act East policy, set up cultural link with ASEAN nations while like Atalji has prioritised NE development for which about Rs 500 crore fund has been earmarked for road construction.

“One man was making BJP poster in his hand, travelling on cycle to paste fix them, sweeping the venue and when he addressed the gathering was in shock that the same man (Atalji) would be the next contestant from Balrampur Lok Sabha seat in 1957. That was Atalji who was very punctual and the credit of BJP’s growth goes to Atalji,” Gao said without mincing any words.

Language has no limit, Gao said citing the example of Pradeep Kumar, a poet who writes in Odiay, Hindi and English, and urged him to compose poems in local languages.
