Arunachal- Sadbhawna Diwas Observed

Arunachal also observed the Sadbhavna Diwas  along with the rest of the country to mark the 72nd  birth anniversary of  former Prime minister late Rajiv Gandhi.

On the Occasion  Chief Minister Pema Khandu took the lead during the ‘Sadbhavna pledge’ here at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan calling for people to rise above caste, creed and religion to work dedicatedly for the nation.

KHandu-ministersSpeaking on the occasion, CM Khandu hailed late Prime Minister as visionary leader who brought several important policies in the field of rural development, education, politics and science. It was his mission to bring quality education to reach every corner of the country that led him to establish Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in 1985. Late Prime Minister also brought anti-defection law, education policy including his initiative for digital India, he said.

 “For Arunachal, late Rajivji was like a godfather, under whose rule Arunachal achieved its statehood status,” added Khandu.

Stressing on the importance of ‘Team Arunachal’ spirit to be adopted at all level such as at youth level, bureaucracy, ministry and at senior level, the Chief Minister asserted that without team work, it will be difficult to run the state.

“Arunachal has 26 major tribes and 100 different sub-tribes. To fulfil the development needs of all will require deep understanding of problems specific to each community. For that to achieve, we need to take on board all sections of people leaving behind none – and that’s what I called as ‘Team Arunachal’,” Khandu declared.

To accelerate development in the state, Chief Minister stressed on bringing in investment. To have favourable investment friendly environment, he emphasized on bringing in law and order control in the state. Khandu said that lawbreakers will be dealt sternly and stressed that unless state is freed of hooligans, it is difficult to make any progress.

“The CM, minister, MLA posts are all temporary. But what is permanent is our belongingness to our state. So we all have to think for betterment of our state. We have to think for our coming generation to guarantee them a good future,” he said urging people to cooperate to make Arunachal free of hooligans and law breakers.

The Chief Minister further appreciated the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) for bringing out monthly magazine – ‘Congress Mirror’, which will serve as platform to bring out best ideas and expression for development of the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, RD Minister Tanga Byaling, Veterinary Minister Rajesh Tacho, PHE Minister Takam Pario, Agriculture Minister Wangki Lowang, MLAs Zingnu Namchoom and Gum Tayeng, Pradesh Congress President Padi Richo, and other party officials also took the pledge.

 Earlier, floral tributes were paid to the late Prime Minister by the Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, MLAs, party leaders and workers.

 Also speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister credited late Prime Minister for bringing in digital revolution and for speeding up the development of the country.
