Arunachal: Roing Anti-Drug Squad arrested 3 drug peddler

“Anti-Drug Squad”  of Roing Police arrested three drug peddler, including a suspended police constable.

Sanjay Kunar Sain, SP Roing inform that inputs were received from various sources that one miscreant was committing extortion in the township area, targeting non-tribal government employees, going from one house to another collecting ransom.

The police team swung into action and identified the miscreant as one Eko Meto, a convicted felon out on bail. The police team mount electronic and physical Surveillance on the miscreant to get closer input, SP Informed.

The Surveillance bore fruit as the said miscreant was found selling narcotics in the township after obtaining it from Namsai from the money procured through extortion. A trap was set by the “Anti-Drug Squad” of Roing Police and the said miscreant was nabbed with around 30 grams of suspected narcotics was seized from his possession.

The cherry on the cake of the arrest is the fact that from his possession one motorcycle that he had robbed from a Roing  based government employee was found  and a cell-phone robbed from an electronics shop in Lower Market, Roing was also found.

On his interrogation he revealed to have purchased the drug from a Namsai based (police constable) and on learning about the matter SP Lower Dibang Valley immediately formed a team led by OC PS Roing Inspector Nyumyum Sora, OC Shantipur SI  S.S Jha, SI R.Tayeng 5th IRBn and team and directed them to set a trap and arrest the supplier.

Accordingly a trap was set at Bishmak Nagar and the said supplier was called in and after a stake-out that lasted for more than 5 hours the team finally nabbed the supplier Soiwa Intong ( suspended police constable ), and his accomplice Engkhun Pomong  both natives of Namsai from Bhismak Nagar and from their possession around 10 packets of brown sugar and more than 100 grams of opium has been recovered and seized.

A case vide Roing PS Case No- 67/19 u/s 20(b)(ii)(B)/21(b) NDPS Act was registered and endorsed to SI T.Haging for investigation.

OC Santipur SI  S.S Jha however said that we are working on it to make drug-free Roing township and adjoining areas
