Arunachal: RKMMS organises Farmers clubs meet with experts in Jairampur

The Farmers Clubs has been promoted by the R.K. Mossang Memorial Society ( RKMMS ), Jairampur  and sponsored by the NABARD.

R.K Mossang Memorial Society organised  the meet with experts programme for Farmers’ Clubs in Jairmpur sub division of Changlang District. Sponsored by The National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD)

During the programme, NABARD District Development Manager Kamal Roy advised all the members of the club to work together, and apply appropriate technology with the help of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and find solutions to the problems faced by them.

He informed that the NABARD supports active and vibrant farmers clubs for exposure visits; provides training through experts, and encourages progressive farming methods.

Roy also advocated for scientific method of cultivation of crops to get higher yield, and gave details on all state and central sponsored schemes, such as CMKRY, DDUBY, DDUSY, DEDS, NLM and KCC.

Dr. D. Techai, Vetnary Officer explained about the scope and prospects of Dairy unit, Piggery unit, and poultry units in Changlang district. These units will give very good return on investment if it will done in a scientific way. He said that in poultry farming there are three types of feed is required to feed chicks i.e. pre – starter, starter and finisher.

D.C Jha, Horticulture Officer told the participants about the benefits of scientific methods for cultivation of commercial crop such as large cardamom, Litchi, Banana, Papaya & Turmeric etc. He told how to prepare land for planting Litchi sapling & technique to irrigate water in large cardamom farm so that the production will increase.

Phoawang Aboh, SMS, KVK, Jairampur explained about the prospects of various agri-horti crops grown in the region. He also emphasized on value addition of the crops for better returns and use of scientific technology. He also stressed upon the integrated farming so that it will give the dual income source. He assured support from KVK for training of the farmers
