Arunachal: Rijiju concerned with delay, slow progress of PMGSY projects

Union Minister of state for Home affairs and Member of Parliament from Arunachal West  constituency, Kiren Rijiju shows his serious concern on delay in execution and slow progress of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) projects in state of Arunachal Pradesh, specially in West Kameng district.

Rijiju was addressing a huge gathering on the occasion of foundation laying ceremony of RK Mission School at Lumdung near Seppa in East Kameng district on Tuesday.

He said that,  thousand crore have been sanctioned for state of Arunachal Pradesh and highest in East Kameng district. it was known during a review meeting with Prime Minister of India wherein Union Minister of Rural Development, Finance Minister was also present. 10 % of the total budget allocation of the 19000 crore  have only been given to state.

He said that after sanction of the road it have been observed that several road project were not properly executed, some of the roads were got delayed and some of them progress is too slow due to various reason,  and some of which quality is unexpected which is a matter of great concern.

He said that due to these the development process is hampered. He appeal to change mindset so that the development of state do not delays in any case.

He said that all the road projects which included National Highway and Trans Arunachal Highway are our property and we should take care.  He appeal all to become a part of development of state and protect our property.

It is to state that Arunachal Pradesh has failed to complete many road projects under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana in the past five years and the reason for the delay in the work was not yet known, as per online management, monitoring and accounting system of 2018-19 (OMMAS) there are 153 road projects with 208 proposals and 199 packages and 2.772. 801 km with a total outlay construction cost of 221,459.99.
