Arunachal: Rebia visits Dollungmukh Bombing zone, discussed with locals

Minister Land Managmen, Nabam Rebia on Tuesday visited the Dollungmukh bombing zone alongwith local MLA  and officials and discussed the issue with locals

Government of Arunachal Pradesh  will view all aspect of public welfare, social security, social action plan, safety and security of people of Dollungmukh area before going for renewal of lease agreement for bombing zone at Dollungmukh in Kamle district said Minister for Land Managmen, Environment and Forest Nabam Rebia.

Talking to Arunachal24, Rebia visited the bombing zone and other parts of Dollungmukh area on Tuesday alongwith local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development Tamar Murtem, Secretary Land Management S. K. Jain, Kamle district Deputy Commissioner  Moki Loyi and other heads of department of district with local leaders social workers and locals of the area.

Rebia said that the team of officers led by him come to know about lots of problems of local people and the issue with the air force officials too. He said that the concerns of the local people is also need to understand addressed. Though shifting of the bombing zone could not be done at the earliest and it is a matter between the state government and central government but before getting for renewal of the agreement the state government will consider all aspect of the situation and concern of the locals of the area and keeping in view of the national security. with regards to payment of compensation of the loss damage he said that several remedial measures to be taken up like effective warning system with implementation of social action plan for the local people of the area, A Report of this visit  will be submitted to Governor for his information and further action as governor have requested him for the same. Rebia added.

Later while attending a meeting with officials of Air force, district administration, local leaders Rebia said in any case the safety and security of the local indigenous will not be compromised even if it is a project of national importance related with security.

He said that the locals need to cooperate as the site is for bombing practice for fighter pilots who deals for the national security at the same time he requested the air force official to formulate policy for creating more awareness about the bombing zone, schedule, timing of bombing with local address system ahead of bombing.

Provision of security fencing/protection wall of the specific area. Application of social responsibility scheme among the locals so as the local get intermingled with the knowledge of the practice and other issues.

He suggested that the Kamle district administration need to get in touch with the air force officials for further communication so that no further loss of life and property of the local is repeated again in future.

Meanwhile Rebia appeal the locals of Dollungmukh to have patience and maintain precautionary measure.

The team also interacted with local residents, leaders and administrative officers of the area and listen to the problems facing by them during the bombing practice by Indian Air Firca since 2017 onwards.

Local MLA Tamar Murtem while addressing the grievance of the local, shows his concern for the safety and security of life and properly of locals residing in 9 village in the vicinity of the bombing zone at the earliest before any more accident repeated again.

Secretary Land Management SK Jain, DC Kamle district Moki Loyi also address the meeting and suggested various means to the air force officials and the precautionary measure to the local leaders.

A memorandum have been submitted signed by former PRI leaders, locals leaders, GBs, students leaders demanding immediate shifting of live bombing and shifting of firing range, immediate demarcation of Arunachal Pradesh-Assam boundary at Dollungmukh.
