Arunachal:  Rebia lays foundation stone for Doimukkh-Harmuty road


Minister Urban Development, Land Management, Law & Justice and Urban Local Bodies  Nabam Rebia  laid foundation stone for rehabilitation and up-gradation  of Doimukkh-Harmuty road on Friday.

Addressing the HODs, public, youths and GBs Nabam Rebia said that it is very unfortunate to learn that the local have encroached upon the right of way. The road serve the connectivity and good road will be helpful for all and would be a beneficial for the smooth flow of traffic and local population.

Doimukh one of the old town of the state need to get development and local people should support for the development of the area.

Earlier the said road was proposed as CC road and state highway and for getting compensation the locals have obstructed through construction of walls and others for land encroachment due to which the scheme was collapsed.

Present scheme under NHIDCL is taken up the road and the Contractor Nabam Tulon may be given support for the work.

Rebia said that the fund of the earlier renovation scheme of PWD this year have been diverted and road for the village under Bogoli, Denka and it may reached to Buka village in Kimin circle and appeal the people to associate with the contractor for the road connectivity in the area.

Rebia while requested the DC to constitute committee with various GB, PRI members and others so that the locals do not created hindrance during the construction of the road.

Itanagar may become smart city after Pasighat and we are pursuing the matter and it would be a part of development of state and all should come forward to support for development.

We should love our motherland and it is our responsibility that we need to shoulder responsibility and part with the development of state and nation.

Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Tai Kaye said that the Harmuty-Gumto road is an alternate and all weather road of Papum Pare district specially capital complex. In monsoon the said road remain only lifeline for the entire capital complex which need to be taken up on priority basis.

Kaye said that there is no provision of compensation and people need to support as it is a development for the people of the area.

He requested the SDO Doimukh to negotiate the locals in taking out ROW without any law and order problem with constant monitoring.

SDO Doimuikh Ibom Tao presented brief about the road measuring 7 KM in Assam side from Harmuty to Gumto out of 17.23 total stretch among Doimukh-Bage Tinali 3.1 Km. The target date of completion have been given as 2018 with maintenance of five year provision by the contractor.
