Arunachal: Protect and preserve our tribal identity- Nabam Rebia

Minister Land Management, Environment and Forest and department of indigenous Affairs and SJETA and Doimukh MLA, Nabam Rebia today appeal the people of state to adopt local and indigenous items and eat traditional food and wear traditional dress on all special occasion and if possible in all walk of life so that we may be able to protect and preserve our tribal identity otherwise we may lose our tribal identity in time to come.

Rebia was addressing a huge gathering on the occasion of 19th Raising day celebration of Nyeday Namlo at Rono ground herd today.

Rebia said that several languages of state are at the verge of extinction due to westernisation trend continue even at home. If we do not use our tradition  and culture,  do not teach our own language to our offspring,  and if we continue to avoid our traditional items, traditional food habits, then  we may lose our identity in time to come.

Referring to the demand of the committee Rebia assured to provide corpus fund for the central Executive Council of Nyedar Namlo so that several programmes related to indigenous movement will carried out.

Department of Indigenous Affairs Chairman Nabam Atum stressed upon several rules and regulation which need to adopt by people during the prayer and also when they are inn Nyedar Namlo (Prayer hall) by the believers of Donyi polo faith.

Indigenous Faith and Culture Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) Secretary General Bai Taba stressed upon preservation of several rituals and rule of law for a better society and happy living with communal harmony and brotherhood.

Central Executive Council  of Nyedar Namlo founder President T R Tara spoke on indigenous movement and brief about Namlo movement in state.

Director Nyedar Namlo Research Council  Professor Tana Sowren briefed about the handbook on the rule of Nyedar Namlo with title ‘ Yirkum Pwoqlwing gamlv’.

Central Executive Council Nyedar Namlo (CECNN) Chairman Dr. Taba Heli, Organising Chairman Yowa Son, Organising Secretary Tana Tagu Tara, CECNN Executive Member Dr. Techi Upen Tara, Dr. Nabam Naka Hina among other also address the gathering.

Arunachal Vikash  Parisshad (AVP) President Techi Gubin, Director Accounts &Treasuries Techi Tedi Tara among other senior officer and local leaders of the area were present on the occasion.

Award and citation were given away to four Nyubs of Doimukh Nyedar Namlo for their selfless secrecies to the Namlo activities.

Several cultural activities including prayer for wellbeing of earth and human being was done on the occasion.
