Arunachal Pradesh is dreaming to emerge as a developed state- Nabam Rebia

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu the Arunachal Pradesh is dreaming to emerge as a developed state.

The environment and forest minister Nabam Rebia has expressed concern over the degrading of quality of education in the state. Speaking during REILA (Recreation, entertainment, information & literary activities), the annual college week celebration of Rajiv Gandhi Govt Polytechnic (RGGP) here, Rebia blamed the teaching community for it.

 “Some of our own local teachers are mostly found absent from school and engaged in their personal work. This directly affects the quality of education. When we raise this issue the local teacher’s expresses displeasure but truth is bitter,” said Rebia.

 He also stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu the Arunachal Pradesh is dreaming to emerge as a developed state. However he added that unless everyone extends support the dream will never fulfilled or come true and urged the people especially the younger generation to shoulder the responsibility for development of  state.

 Rebia also added that RGGP has potential to be converted into degree engineering college and assured to speak to Chief Minister in this regard.

Director of higher and technical education Dr Tayek Talom addressing the function that Arunachal Pradesh will soon get two government engineering college which will further improve standard of technical education in the state.

“ The work at Toru government engineering college under Papum Pare district is going on in full swing.  In addition to it the foundation for another engineering college at Tezu under Lohit district has also been recently laid.

Once completed these two colleges will improve the quality of technical education in the state,” said Dr Talom. He also termed RGGP as one of the pioneering polytechnic institute of the state. Earlier the principal of RGGP Dr AK Triparthy dwelt at length about the history of institute. He also highlighted the achievements of the institute.

RGGP Students Union General Secretary Talo Hiri while submitting a  memorandum to minister highlighting the various issues confronting the institute. The main demands of students union are repairing and maintenance of boundary wall to reduce land encroachment, up gradation of RGGP to Degree College, construction of indoor stadium, construction of basket ball court and construction of gallery.

The general secretary informed that college is facing constant threat from land encroachers and sought the assistance of state government in this regard. The students proctor Ayem Pertin Taba also spoke on the occasion.

DNGC Principal Dr N T Rikam also attended the function as special guest.

Apart of march past, the students of four hoses performed various cultural dames and song on the occasion.
