In his maiden district visit as head of the state, Chief Minister Kalikho Pul today landed at Aalo helipad, where he was accorded a rousing welcome by the cheering crowd dressed in their
traditional Galo attire.

The Chief Minister accompanied by RWD Minister Kumari Waii took an aerial survey of the Likabali-Aalo Trans Arunachal highway. He also took a round inspection of the Aalo Township and over Donyi Polo Government College.

Avoiding any formalities, Pul preferred for surprise inspection of the college compound and its facilities. The chief minister Visited and inspected the College’s Class room, Library, Faculty room, Girls and Boys Hostels, Kitchen, Canteen  and Even the Toilets and Bathroom also.

The Chief minister Found Toilet without proper water. Shortage of Books and News papers in Library. Over crowded Classrooms, overcrowded and in dilapidated condition hostel.

The Chief Minister instructed to the PHED officials to repair Toilets , provide proper Water, library authority for a proposal to meet the shortages of Books and News papers. The  chief minister requested the concerned officials to take remedial measures assuring all support from the government.

While addressing the huge gathering in the premises of Donyi Polo Govt College at Kamki, Chief Minister, Kalikho Pul called upon the people to cooperate with the govt. in implementation of various developmental programmes.

He informed the students about various welfare measures initiated by the govt. which are regular monthly released of stipend in enhanced rate, separate fund for excursion tour for 3rd year students, posting of specialized teachers for music, games & sports and craft to all the

higher secondary schools and colleges. He further said that music and games & sports equipments shall also be provided and also assured to provide text books in time. He also said important newspapers, journals and megazines for the college library would be made available.

He also stress that the govt is planning to develop all the college uniformly with administrative block, auditorium hall, kitchen with proper dining hall with water supply and playground. He said there should be separate toilets and washrooms for boys and girls and the compound should be maintained clean and hygiene. Govt is also planning to ensure regular supply of water and power to all the schools and colleges, Pul added.

Addressing the gathering  Pul said  that govt will mainly focus on principal public sector services like education, health, power and roads besides policing and investment sectors.

Reiterating his point that present govt is people’s govt, the govt is committed to work for the welfare of the public and said that the public money will be utilized properly in the interest of public.

Emphasizing road connectivity as one of the govt’s priority sector, Pul said that carpeting for internal roads of the administrative centres viz., district headquarter, ADC headquarter, EAC & CO
headquarters will be completed within this financial year. After that linking of administrative centres would be taken up to improved the road connectivity.

He asked the deputy commissioner and heads of the department to frequently visit the schools, colleges and hospitals in order to ensure that these institutions get regular basic services like water
and power supply. He also asked DC and SP to check that no liquor is sold in the college compound.

He asked all the HoDs of the district to prepare an inventory of their departmental assets, man power and infrastructures so that the govt can make realistic plan for implementation.

He exhorted the students to study hard, to keep themselves away from unwanted politics and to take part in the social activities for the welfare of the society.
