Arunachal: Police rescues 26 stranded Arunachalees from Assam

Out of the 26, four people are from Namsai and rest 22 are from Roing.

Lower Dibang Valley police rescue around 26 stranded Arunachalee, 16 men and 10 women from Tinaukia and Dibrugarh area of Assam on Friday. Out of the 26 persons rescued, four people are from Namsai whereas rest 22 are from Roing.

According to police sources, a rescue operation undertaken by Roing Police in the late hours yesterday was completed by today morning. A team was constituted by SP Lower Dibang Valley Sanjay Kumar Sain, IPS under the leadership of Dy SP Ringu Ngupok which ventured into Tinsukia, Assam to rescue stranded Arunachalees in Tinukia and successfully brought them back home.

A list of people stranded in Tinsukia was prepared with inputs from help desks established at Roing and Dambuk. After ascertaining the location of all stranded LDV Police constituted the rescue team that had escorted the stranded persons back home.

With the help of Tinsukia and Sadiya Police Roing Police today had rescued a total of 26 Arunacahlees, 16 men and 10 women and brought them back home today early morning.

While congratulating his team for their efforts SP LDV informed that they would be putting more efforts in the future to rescue any more stranded Arunachalees in the nearby regions of Assam.
