Arunachal police organises State level training on Social defence

Arunachal Pradesh Police in collaboration with National Institute of Social Defence, New Delhi conducted a three days State Level Training Programme on Social Defence  for the middle level functionaries of Arunachal Pradesh Police  at PTC Banderdewa from January 4 to 6.

Forty police personnel from various districts of Arunachal Pradesh participated in this training programme. The training module covered various social issues related to women, children, old age persons, drug abuse, juvenile delinquency etc. The trainees also visited Oju Mission Welfare Association and were briefed on various social welfare activities being undertaken by the NGO including women and child helpline.

IGP Nabin Payeng ,IPS, attended as chief guest. He elaborated several issues related with social defence to  trainees, he  explained various social problems prevalent in the society pertaining to women, children and rising drug abuses in the state. He also exhorted that it is us who have to build the society and everyone should contribute in making this society crime free.

Earlier, speaking on the inaugural session Principal PTC Surendra Choudhary, IPS briefed regarding the importance of social issues and its redressal.

In order to impart professional training, resource persons from High Court, District Legal Services Authority, Rajiv Gandhi University and Women and Child Development Department and also from Narcotics Control Bureau, Guwahati were invited to deliver lectures.

PTC, Dy SP (Training) Dusu Kaling and Gyari Tai and other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
