Arunachal: Pakke Kessang, Lepa Rada, and Shi Yomi will become three new districts very soon

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Tuesday introduced the Arunachal Pradesh Re-Organisation of Districts (Amendment) Bill, in state assembly to pave way for creation of Pakke-Kessang, Lepa Rada and Shi Yomi districts in the State in order to place the administration in the door step of the people of those areas for all-round development.

With the three new districts in the pipeline, the total districts in the State rose to 25.

Pakke-Kessang

The Pakke-Kessang district will be carved out of East Kameng district with five administrative units namely Pakke-Kessangn, Seijosa, Pijiriang, Passa Valley and Dissingn Passo with district headquarters at Lemmi.

Lepa Rada

The Lepa Rada district would be created by bifurcating the Lower Siang district with headquarters at Basar. The district would have four administrative units – Tirbin, Basar, Daring and Sago.

Shi-Yomi

The Shi-Yomi district would be created by bifurcating the West Siang district with its headquarters at Tato. The district would have four administrative units namely Mechuka, Tato, Pidi and Manigong.
