The citizen of Dumporijo town of Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh  have been living in complete darkness and without water for the past 15 days due to disruption in power supply.

According to the locals “Power supply was disrupted on 29 May because of some technical problem, and it has not yet been restored,”.

Alleging that the concern departments haven’t restored any of the problem of the area, the people on Tuesday came out on the road to register their grievances.  Women groups staged a protest outside the CO office  against the failure of power department. They also knocked the door of the local administration, demanding immediate restoration of power supply.

ZPM, Gusar circle Puto Bui, informed that there has been no power supply since May 29.

“Concern authorities have taken enough time to restore it, but there has been no sign of any progress yet. People are not able to sleep at night. People have stopped using cell phones,” he said.

Puto further added, “Water supply also has been affected. People are collecting water from streams and nallahs to fetch water for their day-to-day use.”
