Arunachal:  Nipo Nabam appointed APPSC Chairman

The governor of Arunachal Pradesh vide appointed Nipo Nabam, Member of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission as Chairman. The order of this effect which was made available to this correspondent  was issued by Secretary Administrative Reform Azimul Haque.

The stop gap was temporary filled up by Member C P Mansai after the incumbent Chairman Tajum Tallo demitted his office on June 31 2018.

In context of Arunachal Pradesh the Administrative Reform Department being the nodal Department floated the advertisement inviting application for the post of Chairman and the process were followed under Article-316.

After the completion of the last date of submission of the application the government have  constituted a search/screening team/committee headed by a committee for the purpose which is mandatory.

The committee was headed by Rajiv Gandhi University Vice Chancellor as Chairman and state Chief Secretary as Member including Secretary/commissioner Personnel. After screening of all application the names of the candidate are sent to government and the government after lost of deliberation in the cabinet the recommendation sent to the governor for approval.

The name of Nipo Nabam was selected on his experience as a Member of the commission from October 16 2014 to till date and  his presentation with the commission and government and its image in  public.

Nipo Nabam son of Late Tajom Nabam born on October 25 1964 in Seijosa of East Kameng graduated as BSc Agriculture from NEHU, Nagaland and served as Extension Officer in RD Department and was posted at Chyangtajo area but after few years he resigned his service in 1988 and joined in social activities in the service of the people of state.

He dedicated his time as a social worker and associated himself in protection of environment and forest, nature conservation, instrumental in advocating in formation of village forest council, was a team member in advocating for change of original beak of hornbill to artificial one.

Nipo was appointed as State Information Commissioner (SIC) in Arunachal Pradesh Information Council (APIC) in 2006-11 and completed his tenure.

He was recipient of several award and appreciation for his social service and activities in his life which include commendation certificate from former Governor General J J Singh, and was a member of APIC which was adjudge as best commission of the country and others.

NIpo Nabam while talking to this daily said that I have dedicated my service and assured his sincerity, devotion and dedication toward the betterment of the commission and public service of the state. He also thanked the state government for having faith in him and assured his best performance as a APPSC Chairman for the service of the people of the state.
