Arunachal- Nabam Tuki Assumes the Office of Chief Minister

Chief Minister Nabam Tuki assumes the office of Chief Minister today soon after arriving from New Delhi. He interacts with the senior civil officers headed by acting Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, Principal Secretary for Home, Vigilance, Political, AR & Training, Commissioners and Secretaries at his office chamber.

Before that in  obedience of the Supreme Court judgement dated 13th July 2016, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Tathagata Roy has informed Shri Nabam Tuki that he stands reinstated as the Chief Minister of the State on and with effect from that date.

The Governor has also asked the Chief Minister to call the State Legislative Assembly to session immediately and to prove his majority in the house no later than 16th July 2016 (Saturday).
The Governor has further desired that in order to ensure that the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly may take place peacefully and otherwise appropriately, the same shall be videographed throughout and the majority as aforesaid proved by Division and not by Voice Vote. A note to this effect has also been sent to the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly.

The Governor emphasised that the conduct of the proceedings, including the videography, in the House shall strictly follow the principles laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in its order dated May 6, 2016 in the matter pertaining to the matter of imposition of President’s Rule in the State of Uttarakhand.
