Arunachal: Mortal remains of legendry Taro Chatung led to rest

A procession was carried out around 4 Kilometer from his resident to a identified placed identified by Late Chatung as per family sources and led to rest in afternoon today.

The Mortal remains of legendary Late Taro Chatung led to rest at his ancestral village today afternoon at Tabyo Swkoh under Kelya Model village of Hija in Ziro of Lower Subansiri district with great honour in presence of thousand of family members, relatives, well wishers, people from all section of society.

Media fraternity from state also take part in the funeral programmes which continue after his mortal was first brought to his local resident at Mowb-II and then to Arunachal Press Club (APC) and later brought to Hija Village in Ziro where thousand of welwishers and people from all section of society attended.

A procession was carried out around 4 KM from his resident to a identified placed identified by Late Chatung as per family sources and led to rest in afternoon today.

Several eminent personalities from Taley Valley, Lower Subansiri district and state capital paid tribute to late departed soul. The eminent personalities which include Education & Cultural Affairs Minister Taba Tedir,  Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi, social worker Jarjum Ete, PPA President Kahfa Bengia, leaders from TSD, Apatani Students Union, senior bureaucrats and technocrats, social, political and students leaders and others also visited and paid tribute.

Speaking to media State Election Commissioner (SEC) Hage Kojin said that Late Chatung was the first pioneer in electronic media at the time when environment was not supporting and the people were not aware of it. He abandoned his cozy chair of being a civil servant for the people of state and dedicated his time and energy for promoting the tradition, culture, heritage and our state to the outside world. His contribution is immense. We have really miss him and state too have also lots a film maker, producer, director and a journalist.

Arunachal Front Editor Nani Kojin while expressing his condolences said that Late Chatung was my childhood friend. I knew his personally and he was found of photography and other electronic media activities when it was a new for our state. He left up the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service post and began to work for promotion of media and journalism in state. He was a interesting person and down to earth, he tries his best and cover all issue of state. His demise will create a big vacuum and would take a long time to fill his gap.

He inform that all  hundreds of family members, relatives and friend are attending and paying floral tribute to the departed soul and we are also praying almighty for eternal peace for the departed soul to rest in peace.
