Arunachal: Mini marathon on theme ‘Run for sports’

Minister PHE, IPR, Parliamentary Affairs and Government spokesperson Bamang Felix today appeal the students and youths to build themselves first for a stronger nation.

Felix today early morning while flagging off the Mini marathon on theme  ‘Run for sports’ at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium said that  everything depend on good health and if our health is good we can carry forward our day to day activities and said marathon race a part of sports which encourage us to maintain a good health, spirit  which help in maintaining  communal harmony brotherhood.

The Mini marathon organised by department of Sports under theme ‘Run for sports’ was open to all.

Director Sports Tadar Appa while addressing the media said that mini marathon ‘Run for sports’ have been launched to encourage and motivate the people of all ages and background   to improve their mental and physical health through sports and yoga.

Arunachal:  Mini marathon on theme ‘Run for sports’A total of 800 participants have been registered on online and though mobile but 480 have physically participated and mostly have completed the distance of 12 Km from Rajiv Gandhi Stadium to Sports Complex here at Yupia.

There were lots of enthused among the participants as it was participated by all the district of state wherein 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners of the district marathon have been given opportunity to take part while it was open to all for capital complex.

The participants are mostly from Rajiv Gandhi University, Sange Laden Sports Academy, Sports Association of India, Donyi Polo School of hearing Impaired, ITBP, Arunachal Pradesh Police and various schools of capital complex.

In mens category batch no 267 Mudang Opo of Lower Subansiri reached 1st in around 34 minute, batch no 273 Karbu Kena of Upper Subansiri reached in 2nd position in around 35 minute , batch no 286 Bamo Tanang of capital complex reached 3rd  in around 36 minute.

In women category batch no-003 Yabung Tali  of  East Siang reached in around 42 minute, batch no-001 Anung Wangsa of SLSA reached in 2nd position in around 43 minute, batch no 0014 Obur Siboh of SLSA stood 3rd reached in around 44 minute.

The  winner were given away with cash prize of Rupees Fifty Thousand, a trophy and certificate, 2nd was give away with a cash prize of Rupees Thirty Thousand and 3rd with a cash prize of Rupees Twenty Thousand with trophy an certificate. The prizes were given away by several sports celebrity of country at golden jubilee banquet hall this afternoon at the two days seminar on sports programme.
