Arunachal: Major fire mishap in Itanagar remains 47 family homeless

In a major fire mishap in Romik Colony of Itanagar, P Sector  at around 2.30 this afternoon leaving 47 family homeless.

SDPO, Itanagar Dekio Gumja informed that the fire broke out at around 2.30 this afternoon have done a massive damage to the family members residing as rented accommodation in 8 private OBT/SPT building  in the Romik Colony. Three government bachelor Barrack of Forest department also gutted in the devastating fire mishap. Two fire tender was pressed into service but due to non availability of passage for fire tender the damage was high.

Parliamentary Secretary PWD, UD & ULB and local MLA Techi Kaso who also rushed to the spot meet the victims and console the family members who have lost all their belonging including household materials and books of the school children.

Kaso while talking to media person said that the fire incidents are continuing in the capital manly due to lack of awareness among the citizens and non availably of passage for emergency services. The haphazard construction of dwelling houses also add to the such accidents in urban area. He also observed that due to some old electric wiring and wires the electric short circuit have occurred in some case.

However he contributed  around Three lakh as an immediate relief to the victims. He also informed that the  Capital Deputy Commissioner is also providing blankets and other essential items as immediate relief from district administration.

He also  appeal one and all to take precautionary measures while construction of resident and other accommodation. However the victims have been temperedly shifted at the Romik Colony Govt. Primary School as a relief camp.

P Sector resident welfare association President Dindo Tasuk while said that due to non availability of sufficient passage for fire tender the damage was extensive and all family have lost  everything except their wearing. He appeal the state government to provide relief to the victims.

SP Capital Sagar Singh Kalsi, BJP Vice President Tame Phassang, Capital BJP district President Tarh Shoping, IMC Councillor Gora Lotak, ACS Chairman Pate Tayum and many social workers and locals also visited and help in evacuation
