Minister Environment and Land Management Nabam Rebia on Saturday appeal the local villager to maintain the flora and fauna and ecology for a good health and environment.
Addressing a development meeting at Mani Village under Doimukh Circle Rebia said that the third world war may be held in the name of water. Water is very precious and we cannot live without water. But
due to rampant forest cutting may be for different reasons which is affecting the ecology balance and slowly we are losing the oxygen and other forest product. Causing this a time will come, we may be suffer for clean and green environment.
Referring to marginalising of the water in Mani Nallah He said all this are due to rampant earth cutting and forest clearing in want of jhum cultivating. He ask the villagers to avoid jungle clearing, forest fire and jhum cultivation in and around 1 KM radius of the catchment area of the water source.
Referring to the memorandum submitted by the local PRI members Rebia said that he have already release 50 lakhs for CC road in the village and additional will also be released as per estimate submitted by the PWD and ask the engineer of the Doimukh Division for completion additional around 1 KM of the CC road in the area.

Rebia further appeal the villagers to arrange a place for recreation or playing of games and sports so that the health of the youths and children are also maintained.
