Arunachal Karate team wins 5 Medals in 63rd National School Games

Bringing laurel to the state the Karate team of Arunachal Pradesh bagged 5 Medals at the 63rd National School Games 2017 (Under-19) which was held at Indore.  The Arunachal Pradesh Karate team won 2 Silver medals and 3 bronze medals to put the state at the third place of the championship. All together 30 teams participated in the sports events.

Tamo Mepo of Sangey Laden Sports Academy (SLSA) won silver medal in the individual game of Kumite. He lost the final round of neck to neck fight against one Latish Kumar from Maharashtra who won the Gold medal. Minam Tekseng of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Polo Colony also won Silver medal under – 64 Kg category individual Kumite.

Meanwhile Santi Sikom of Government Secondary School (GSS), Daporijo along with Lokam Maya of  GHSS Yazali and Mering Lingfa of GHSS Bazar Line Seppa won bronze medal in the 40kg, 56kg and 68 kg category respectively.

The Team was lead by Sensei Kakio Siga Teacher In-Charge of Government Primary School A-Sector Itanagar as Chief Manager, Sensei Rechi Kagung constable Tax & Excise as Male Coach and Sensei Mui Ama from 3rd IRBn as Female Coach.

Shihan Likha Tara President Arunachal Karate Association (AKA) and Sensei Bulang Marik General Secretary AKA and Director Secondary Education Gania Leij have congratulated the winners of the 63rd National School Games 2017.
