Arunachal: KAI president Sihan Likha Tara accorded warm welcome 

Likha Tara was elected as president of KAI in the election of Governing Body of KAI which was  conducted on January 8.

The  newly elected president of Karate Association of India (KAI), Shihan Likha Tara was accorded a warm welcome amidst gathering of several imminent sports personalities today evening here at E-Sector Karate Club.

Likha Tara was elected as president of KAI in the election of Governing Body of KAI which was  conducted on January 8. Tara is the first person of the state and NE region to be elected to this position.

In his address Likha Tara, extremely pleased looking, thanked all state karatakas and his colleagues for their support through various means. He also extended gratefulness to all North East states KAI members for their support and back-up in achieving the coveted post.

“I would also like to give my sincere thanks to our MoS Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister Pema Khandu for supporting me for the post”, Tara added.

Recollecting his journey Tara said, Do not look for quick gains or anticipate something big to happen overnight, Tara soberly said, adding that it takes long hours of hard work, patience and focus to reach to a distinct position. He further exhorted the young karatakas that the result of years and years of hard work might not gather gains now, but it would in future which will benefit many.

Young entrepreneur Likha Maj in his address said that it is a great achievement for the state that one of the sincere dedicated karatakas who have been founding members have been elected to the post through election at national capital of the country is a remarkable moment.

Arunachal Olympic Association secretary A k Techi joining the happy memento said that it is a memorable achievement for the sports lovers specially karataks of Arunachal that son of the soil have reached to the post and under guidance of Sihan Tara the karate will grow more than before and also bring more name and fame and laurel for the state.

Arunachal Karate Association (AKA) General Secretary Bulang Marik, AKA technical S Deben Sharma, Arunachal Armature boxing association General Secretary Tadang Minu also spoke about the journey of Likha Tara and development and growth of karate in state.

Adorned with several medals, Likha Tara has toured many countries like Austria, Japan, UAE, Indonesia etc representing India as technical member, team manager, coach, training camps, recent being the Official in the WKF Training Camp cum Karate 1 Youth World Cup held at Umag, Croatia from 2nd to 8,h July’2018,  as an Officials in the WKF World Senior Karate Championship which was held at Madrid, Spain from 5,h to 11 November’2018.
