Arunachal Jagran Manch Protest March- against killing of BJP workers in Kerala

Hundreds of people subscribing to nationalistic ideology belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayemsevak Sangh participated in a peaceful protest march organized under the aegis of the Arunachal Jagaran Manch against the killings of several social and political workers in Kerala from IG Park to Rajbhawan here today.

Arunachal Jagran Manch (AJM) led by its coordinators Padmeshwari Jamoh  and Tamchi Kame submitted a memorandum to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee through the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, PB Archarya. However, due to absence of the Governor, the memorandum was received by his Secretary.

Speaking to reporters, a leading voice of AJM and former MLA Tapen Siga opined  that the  protest  is against  the recurring assaults, gruesome murders of RSS-BJP workers  as well as  attacks on their homes by the workers of  Communist Party of India(Marxist) all over the state of Kerala.

 ‘The violence by CPM in Kerala has a long and painful history, at least 51 social workers have been killed in last 18 months under CPM government in Kerala,’ he said.

 ‘It is the paramount duty of the state to provide safety and security to the people of the state without discrimination but CPM government in Kerala has failed to do so which has compelled us to seek the intervention of the President of India,’ stated the former MLA.

 AJM, in its memorandum asserted that houses of various RSS and BJP workers at Kanjikode of Palakkad District, Kerala were attacked and set on fire. Even women belonging to Scheduled and OBC communities were not spared and killed in politically motivated attacks by CPM arsonists.

 Reportedly, in several districts including East Siang, Tirap and Lohit, various civil society organization’s with nationalist outlook submitted similar memorandum to the President of India though the office of district collectors.
