Arunachal: Itanagar-Poma-Jote road work at slow pace

The progress of the construction of the road from Itanagar-Poma-Jote under PWD Doimukh Division is in slow pace of progress even after the renovation work began on December 15,  2017 last.

The said stretch of road measuring 24 KM  from Gohpur Tinali to Jote of an estimate cost of 12 Crore of which tender was award to NT Agency  due to several reason the work could not started in time and the actual work began on December 15 last .

PWD Doimukh Division Executive Engineer Nabam Tado said that the work for 13.7  KM taken up  as per provision in the DPR and fund provision.

So far 60 % or work have been completed  and we are monitoring the work’ he added.

Tado said that the contractors are carrying out the work and they doing the work with the help of Paver finisher, direction have been issued to the contractor for maintaining of quality.

When asked about drainage system, Tado said that there is no provision of RCC drainage however kucha drain will be constructed as per requirement wherever necessary.

He said that the work progress is not actually slow since the completion period is 1 year and till date only 5 month have passed , 7 month is still remaining and hope that it would be competed on time.

It is to mention that road is the lifeline of the area and Sangdupoto circle as well it would lead to the connectivity to the East Kameng district in future.

The Sangdupota Circle specially Jote is become an education hub. NIT have already come up but due to pathetic road condition the academic classes not began. Law college is almost completed and academic session will began from 2018.  Women college, TV and Film Institute, EDI, Regional Art & Culture Centre is coming up and the most important Army cantonment would come up and high level army official have already inspected several site in that area.
