Arunachal: High-level meeting on Miao-Vijoynagar Road

The meeting decided on carrying out the new alignments to cover maximum number of habitats and construction of bailey bridges with 40 R (Resistance) classification.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D.Mishra (Retd.) along with the Chief Minister Pema Khandu co-chaired a high-level meeting to finalise the project to construct the Mioa-Vijoynagar Road at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 17th October 2019. Rural Works Department (RWD) Minister Honchun Ngadam, Urban Development Minister and local MLA of Miao-Vijoynagar Kamlung Mosang, P.K.H. Singh, VSM, Additional Director General, Border Roads Organization (East), senior officers from State Administration, Rural Works Department, Civil Supplies, Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency, Border Roads and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited participated in the discussion.

The meeting decided on carrying out the new alignments to cover maximum number of habitats and construction of bailey bridges with 40 R (Resistance) classification.

The Governor said that for national security and welfare of the people of remote areas, concerted effort must be made to connect them with the mainland at the earliest. He also stressed on providing essential commodities to the people of such areas at the prevailing price level.

Participating in the discussion, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his proactive role in addressing the challenges of the people in distant areas. He assured the Governor that Miao-Vijoynagar strategic road like, the State Government is determined to complete as soon as possible.

P.K.H. Singh, VSM, Additional Director General, Border Roads Organization (East) briefed the Governor and the Chief Minister with a PowerPoint presentation about the recent reconnaissance of the proposed new alignment of  Mioa-Vijoynagar Road.
