Arunachal: Govt will move for total ban on hunting , cancellation of arm licence -Nabam Rebia

Government of Arunachal Pradesh will move for total banned on hunting and killing of wild animals, and cancellation of Arms licences – Nabam Rebia, Forest Minister .

Government of Arunachal Pradesh will move for total banned on hunting and killing of wild animals in state as several wild animals and flora and fauna are declining from the forest. There is need to save wild animals and forest for our survival on the earth said Minister Environment & Forest, Nabam Rebia on Saturday.

Rebia was addressing a huge gathering at Kola Camp in Mani Panchayt of Doimukh Circle on the occasion of 69th Van mahotsav.

 The main agenda for plantation and its awareness is totally based on the need of the hour as due to global warming which is threatening the existence of human being on the earth.

He directed the GBs to make mass awareness on ill effect of destruction of forest and wild animals . He highlighted the needs of more tree plantation and its affect and effect on nature for our sustainability and development and existence. And balancing of nature and weather.

While lauding the imitative of the Hyer Habia Catchment Area Welfare Committee  (HHCAWC) of Midpu to start for the preservation and protection of catchment area of rivers and nallah urge upon all stakeholders and village elders, former PRI members and GBs to formulate such committee and ‘Van Rakshak Committee’ in all villages for preservation and protection of forest and wild animals in state.

Giving a clarion call to all stake holders and likeminded people of state to come forward and unite ourselves for protection and preservation of natural products, natural habitats, flora and fauna side by side considering our sustainable development without destruction of the forest.

PCCF and Principal Secretary Environment & Forest M Surya Prakash address the gathering as guest of honour said that forest department can only support and help the general public and provide man and machinery to the general masses in preservation and protection of environment forest and wild animals but it is the responsibility of general masses and all stake holders to come forward and join hands with the department

Doimukh SDO Ibom Tao addressing as special guest on the occasion highlighted various issue which led to deforestation and presented various means for conservation and protection of flora and fauna.

DFO Banderedwa Neelan Nedo highlighted the plantation drive in his jurisdiction since last one month and said that so far more than ten thousand people have pledge to support nature and support the movement for protection of forest and wild life.

Several social workers and senior leaders of the area which include BJP district President Tana Hali Tara, Rekhi Tana Tara,  Taba Son, Teri Roja,  HHCAWC Chairman Tana Tokur, Tana Pekhi.

Earlier in morning more than 500 local people, students of various schools of the area, officers of Environment & Forest department, officers of local administration  of the area participated in mass tree plantation which started from Chiputa along the Trans Arunachal Highway and concluded at Kola Camp and planted more than 1000 trees. Later 100 tree saplings were also distributed to the GBs of different villages of four Lekha, Chiputa, Mani and Tigdo pancahayt.
