Arunachal Governor meets HRD Minister

Governor requested the HRD Minister for early opening of the seven proposed Kendriya Vidhyalayas in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), who is on a official tour to National Capital  New Delhi, met the Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on 5th January 2019. The Governor took up various issues with regards to education sector of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Governor requested the HRD Minister for early opening of the seven proposed Kendriya Vidhyalayas in Arunachal Pradesh The HRD Minister assured the Governor that the 7 Kendriya Vidhyalayas will be opened in the State this Financial Year ending, for which the requisite cabinet proposal will be move shortly. The proposed KVs are in Kurung Kumey, Dibang Valley, Namsai, Upper Subansiri, Anjaw, West Siang and Upper Siang Districts

Committed to improve the primary education in the State and overcome the dropout rate in Arunachal Pradesh, the Governor also requested the HRD Minister for three Navodaya Vidyalayas for the three newly created districts of Yumi, Lepa Rada and Pakke Kessang Districts.

The HRD Minister assured the Governor to move the proposal in the next meeting of the Union Cabinet.

In another development, the Governor took up the issue of lone Government Law College of the State, which was scheduled to be opened last year but that could not be done due to non approval of it by the Bar Council of India. He spoke to Manan Kumar Mishra, Chairman, Bar Council of India (BCI). Responding to Governor’s request, the Chairman, BCI, assured the Governor that he would be sending a team from BCI for inspection at the earliest.

The Governor further requested the BCI Chairman to direct the Inspecting Team to keep the Governor posted of their inspection details after their inspection findings while at Itanagar, so that the finalisation of the inspection be done on time for BCI’s approval for the College.
