Arunachal Governor graces Engineering Day celebration

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) attended the Silver Jubilee celebration of Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Service Association (APESA), which is designated on birthday of Bharat Ratna and eminent Indian Engineer Dr. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, KCIE, in the State Assembly Convention Hall, Itanagar on 15th September 2018. The Governor paid floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. Visvesvaraya and lighted the inaugural lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that engineers are the one who can shape the future of the State. He advised them to think out of the box, be innovative and work with honesty, discipline, creativity and transparency. There must be continuity, audit and review and wherever required mid-term corrections in your work.

The Governor, while complimenting the engineers for the silver jubilee celebration and exemplary works such as the Assembly building, asked them to use latest technologies, eco friendly approach, set example and be committed to the responsibilities towards their colleagues and juniors.

While recalling the great achievements of Indian Engineers from Harappan Civilization to Ashoka and Mughal eras, the Governor called upon them to create good works, which will be remembered for years to come.

Highlighting the life of Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Visvesvaraya, his simplicity, dedication, commitment, sacrifice, discipline and multifaceted personality, the Governor called upon the engineers to emulate him. Quoting 10 commandments from the Bible, he advised them to work with honesty and integrity.

Guest of Honour of the occasion and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Former Secretary and Chief Engineer, Er. Tomi Ete, President, APESA and Chief Engineer Er. Pura Tupe, Vice President, APESA and Superintendent Engineer, Er. Modam Jini and Secretary General APESA and Superintendent Engineer, Er. Karom Perme also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, the Governor released the Silver Jubilee APESA souvenir. A video presentation about the life and achievement of Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Visvesvaraya and audio presentation of ‘Maan Ki Baat’ of Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on Engineering Day, were presented on the occasion along with a colourful cultural programme depicting the cultural heritage of various tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.
