The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) has conveyed his warm greetings to the children and the people of the State on the occasion of Children’s Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

In his message, the Governor said that the children arrive in this world in most tender and vulnerable shape and size and continue to remain exclusively dependent for their growth, life sustenance and physical well being on parents, care takers and the society at large. Celebrating Children’s Day, therefore, is about giving every child, his or her right to grow into a happy, healthy and educated citizen of the country. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru once said “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country”. This special occasion, therefore, should motivate every parent, guardian and the Nation to provide all possible opportunities to the children to grow with dignity.

The Governor further said, “We owe it to our children to provide them with good educational facilities and instil in them humanism and the rationalistic values of life. We should enable them to become confident, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Let us, therefore, take a pledge to build a harmonious society which is empathetic to healthy up-bringing of our children”.

For our children’s ‘tomorrow’, let us give our ‘today’, the Governor appealed.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has extended warm greetings to the people especially children on Children’s Day. He paid rich tribute to the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary, which is also celebrated as Children’s Day on November 14 every year.

Khandu said Children are the future of the country and their moral and educational standards determine the progress of a Nation. The welfare of our children is a national priority.

“Therefore, it is our prime duty to provide our children quality education and best upbringing to secure a successful future for them and for ourselves. I appeal to all parents and guardians to instill good morals and virtues in their wards and groom them to be responsible citizens of our country” CM appealed.
