Arunachal Governor attends the 36th Foundation Day celebration of RGU

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh attended the 36th Foundation Day of Rajiv Gandhi University ( RGU ) , Rono Hills, Doimukh in the university campus on 4th February 2019.

Extending his greetings to the university fraternity, the Governor commended the administration, faculty, staff and students for the achievements and new initiatives taken up by the RGU. He appreciated the university administration for felicitating the dedicated and sincere employees and the Gaon Burahs of nearby villages.

The Governor said that for a university to progress and success, there must be study atmosphere and academic environment. He called upon all stakeholders to make concerted effort to make Rajiv Gandhi University one of the best in the country.

The Governor emphasised on transparency, accountability, honesty and correct utilization of fund in the infrastructure development of the university. The campus must be maintained and no encroachment must be allowed. There must be discipline and safety and security on the premises. Commercial activities must be reduced and drugs, cigarette and liquor reach in the campus must be eradicated, he said.

Talking about the academic activities, the Governor said that while organising seminars, conclaves, workshops, symposiums and academic meets, organising committee must take care not to be extravagant What matters is as to who are the participants, what and of what standard the discussions have done and the outcome and summary of the interactions.

The Governor advised the faculty members for thorough preparation of their lessons, taking up regular classes and affording the interaction with the students of a coach, friend, philosopher and guide.

The Governor also advised the students for cent percent attendance, research and innovative activities and paper writing and presentations. Stressing that they must take part in sports and co-curriculum activities, he said that the student life is the only opportunity for such healthy activities.

While stating that the Placement Review Committee for ensuring high campus placement of the students, comprising the Professors of Rajiv Gandhi University, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology and National Institute of Technology and government senior officials, and institutional ranking improvement has been set up by him has finalized its report and soon be present to the Chief Minister and his council of ministers to streamline and finalize it.

The Governor advised the students to be entrepreneurs and job providers by availing start-ups programmes.

As a gift to the university on the occasion of 36th Foundation Day, the Governor assured of commissioning of a National Cadet Corps Unit in the university.

Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University, Prof Saket Kushwaha briefed on the challenges and achievements of the University in the last 35 years.

The Governor felicitated the dedicated employees on the occasion.
