Arunachal: Gandhi Jayanti celebrated across the state

On the occasion of 150 birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’ father of nation’ several government and public programme  were organised across the state.

BJP Arunachal Pradesh carried out cleanliness drive and distribution of fruits at Tomo Riba Institute of Medical Sciences ( TRIMS) in Naharlagun led by State BJP  President Tapir Gao.  The day started  with garlanding and offering of floral tributes  to statue of the father of  the nation at Mini Gandhi  Park in Niti Vihar. The  function was also  attended by Chief Minister, Arunachal Pradesh  Pema Khandu and many other important dignitaries. BJP President Tapir Gao and local BJP MLA Techi Kaso, the rank and file of BJP Arunachal Pradesh drove down to TRIHMS and carried out cleaning activity in the hospital compound. Hundreds of BJP office bearers, seniors leaders, Morchas and Karyakartas participated  in cleaning activity.

In Rajiv Bhawan 

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee  (APCC) celebrated the  birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi today at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Itanagar, with floral tribute to the portrait of Bapuji.  All India Congress Committee (AICC) Inchrage Arunachal Pradesh Zenith Sangma, APCC President Takam Sanjoy,  Tali MLA Markio Tado, and all the rank & files of Congress party were present on the occasion.  Zenith Sangma while addressing the party leaders and workers while recalled the contributions made by Gandhiji in achieving freedom for the country and also his ultimate sacrifice for the cause of peace and non-violence.

In Donyi Polo Vidya Niketan 

The BJP team also distributed  fruits at Donyi Polo Vidya Niketan  School at  Pachin Colony to the students of the school which was organised by State unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha  ( BJYM).  On the occasion an interaction was also held with School authority with the State BJP President in connection with welfare of the school.

In Dera Natung Government College

Remembering the ‘Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi, a Mass Social Service was organised by NCC, NSS, DNGCSU, Teaching Faculties and Staffs of Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar at the College Campus today. The whole Campus beginning from the College Gate up to the Girls’ Hostel was apportioned and assigned to different groups of students supervised and monitored by the teachers. More than 500 students comprising of NCC Cadets, NSS Volunteers, Executives of Students’ Union, Teachers and Staffs participated and cleaned up the whole College Campus under the guidance of Dr N.T. Rikam, the Principal of the College.

In Sagalee

The Sagalee sub-division of Papum Pare celebrated the Gandhi Jayanti and Swachh Bharat diwas with great enthusiasm inspite of inclined weather. Hundreds of youths, officials of various department, GBs, former PRI members led by Sagalee ADC  S Lowang, PHED Executive Engineer Teli Dutto, WRD EE Nabam Ayung, RWD EE Techi Totu carried out social service in the market area, school campus and area around mini secretariat and several other places in the township. Hundreds of students from various schools which include students of Govt HSS Sagalee and NCC volunteers take part.  Addressing a gathering at Multi purpose auditorium ADC Lowang said that we are celebrating Gandhi Jayanti to remember our father of nation but the real tribute will be if we remember his teaching the philosophy of cleanliness at home at school and at work places and everywhere.  Several prizes were distributed to the winners of literary completion held earlier, including the sanitary workers and worker of the department and private individuals, students and others who work for the cleanliness diver in the area.

In Doimukh

Gandhi Jayanti celebrated in collaboration with National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, Ministry of Roads and Highways, Govt of India, 4th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission was celebrated.  The day long celebration started with a procession by students and teachers of Govt Middle School, Rono followed by  floral tribute to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of Nation.  While participating in the Swachhata  Hi Seva programme, Doimukh SDO Ibom Tao exhorted the students to make cleanliness part of life and  appealed the teachers to instil importance of civic sense and behaviour from the very beginning among school children. He also thanked NHIDCL for supporting local administration in  befitting celebration of Gandhi Jayanti.

NHIDC, General Manager Prabhakar Kumar also spoke on the occasion and briefed the children about importance of cleanliness, health and hygiene and degradation of environment due to pollution. Later on he also gave away plastic dustbins to Govt Middle School, Rono, Community Health Centre, BRCC and SDO Office, Doimukh.

NDRF 12 Bn Doimukh also conducted  “Swacchata hi sewa” programme w.e.f 15/09/2018 to 02/10/2018 at various places in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam states. The programme was mainly focused on cleaning of streets, drains, collection of wastes, using/ construction of toilet, building of compost pits and to avoid the use of polythene. NDRF personnel conduct campaigns for awareness to drive behaviour change of people in respect of sanitation behaviours by targeting villages/Schools/Govt. Offices/ Public places/ Markets etc. During this long campaign district administration as well as local people supported NDRF to achieve the “Swacchata hi Sewa” motto.

In Nirjuli

National People’s party (NPP) organised social service at various location in capital complex at Nirjuli, Banderdewa and Karsingsa Market line.  The team of volunteers led by its Papumpare district unit President Techi Jyoti Tara, State Youth president Bage Kamsi, State President Student Front Gepu Don, and State President women wing Ripe Bagra and other Party volunteer at Nirjuli, Doimukh , Karsingsa and Banderdewa Daily Market early this morning under the theme ” Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan “

In Lekhi

 A mass social service was held at BJP Mandal office Lekhi village wherein BJP workers from three mandals like Nirjuli, Naharlagun and Itanagar participated in the mass social service.  BJP Vice President Tame Phassang  while addressing the workers said ‘ mass social service is also an part of weeks long ‘ Swachta hi Seva’ campaign, where has  BJP has started its campaign on cleanliness from mid September to October 2 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

In Banderdewa

BANDERDEWA ;  Police Training Centre, Banderdewa, Arunachal Pradesh celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. The program began with paying tribute to Gandhi. On the occasion, Principal (PTC)  Surendra Choudhary explained the journey of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to Independence movement. He invited the staff and trainees to realize the contribution of the great soul that what a simple life was lead by Mahatma Gandhi and his contribution towards the struggle against social injustice. To follow his path , a cleanliness drive was conducted at Police Training Centre. Dy.SP Dusu Kaling, Inspector D Aago, instructors and trainees were present on the occasion and participated.

In Naharlagun

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Seva Dal (APCSD) organized Social Service at Gandhi Market, Naharlagun in respect of celebration of birth anniversary of father of nation   Mahatma Gandhi. The Programme has stated with the rich floral tributes to the portrait of the Mahatma Gandhi. Seva Dal Additional Chief Organiser Kipa Tagung recalled  Gandhiji was one of the prominent leader of the freedom struggle who had a love of truth & duty and proved the world that freedom can be ahead with non-violence.

In Khonsa

 Along with rest of the country – Tirap District celebrated 150 Birth Anniversary of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi and conducted “Swachhata Hi Seva” to commemorate Gandhiji’s Birthday here today.  Participating in the “Swachata Hi Seva” cleanliness drive at Khonsa H/Q, Tirap Deputy Commissioner P.N. Thungon  administered clean India pledge to mark the commencement of Mahatma Gandhi Inspiring quote  “Aapna Kaam Suyam Karon”, he added that let us fulfill Mahatma Gandhi Vision’s of Clean India – Swach Bharat Mission and take pledge to remain committed towards cleanliness.

In Borduria

Adviser to CM Wanglin Lowangdong paid homage to portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and said that we should rededicate ourselves to the values espoused by the Father of the Nation, peace, fraternity, harmony and inclusive national development

In Rupa

On the eve of  birth anniversary of Mohan das karamchand Gandhi ,Additional Deputy commissioner Rupa sub division of west kameng District Suraj Gurung inaugurated Legal Literacy club in presence of Advicates, Teachers and Students at Govt Higher secondary School campus.  Earlier West Kameng District Legal services Authority has donated one computer sets with chairs, table and stationary to the said schools.

In Seppa

Along with the rest of the country Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with pomp and gaiety by organizing various programmes today across the East Kameng district.  At Seppa, garlanding of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners of various activities on cleanliness and candle light rally promoting cleanliness were the main highlights of the celebration.  Paying homage to the Father of the Nation, East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Singh Rajawat sought cooperation of the public to make the sanitation campaign a success.
He appealed to the public to imbibe the habit of proper waste disposal, using sanitary latrines in order to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat.

In Hayuliang

The Gandhi Jayanti celebrated across the district of Anjaw.  At Hayuliang  the day began with Prabhat Phery by the student and teaching faculty of GHSS, Hayuliang. After Prabhat Pherry garlanding of Gandhi Statue and Ramdhun was sung by the students of GHSS, Hayuliang followed by speech on Gandhiji’s life in Hindi and English language. a cleanliness drive was organised by Swach Bharat Mission Committee of Anjaw District at Hayuliang  township with all  HODs, Business community, Student, Ex-PRI members and staff of various department.
