Arunachal: Erratic Power supply in Koloriang adds to residents’ woes

Erratic power supply amid scorching heat has left residents of Koloriang  inconvenienced since last two weeks. Following monsoon showers, the humidity has risen for the past couple of days. Compounding the problem, often power cuts are also being imposed in the city.

The locals alleged  that they have been facing acute problems due to irregular power supply in Koloriang township and adjoining area like Damin, Parsiparlo, Sarli since more than two weeks.

Long hours of scheduled and unscheduled power cuts have also disrupted the normal functioning of schools in the district and have left students in problem as they studying in candle light .

Kurung Kumey Deputy Commissioner Santosh Kumar Rai when contacted said that he have also received the genuine complain of the public. It is a matter of concern and have directed the officials of Power department to take care on urgent basis.

Rai inform that he have been informed by the officials of Hydro Power Department that Electric polls at different locations have been damaged due to ongoing construction of Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH).

One of the turbine of the Yapak HPD near Koloriang township is also not functioning and developed some technical defect which need to repair. As per information the technicians are coming from Kolkata,  and the turbines may be repaired soon.

At present there have been  load shedding, and restricted power supplying in the entire township, Rai added.

Meanwhile the district unit of All Nyishi youth association, President Bengia Taram appeal the Executive Engineer of HPD to solve the problem immediately.
