Arunachal Elections: Over 3.65 crore seized, 6 cases forwarded to IT department

Over three crore sixty five lakh  have been seized during the checking in various parts of state after declaration of simultaneous election and enforcement of model code of conduct. Said additional chief election officer Kangki Darang.

Briefing the reporters at Nirvachan Bhawn today, Darang said that cash seizures are being done on regular basis by team of flying squad team (FST), statistic  surveillance team (SST) and police. apart of cash the team seized various other items like arm, ammunition,  liquor and other items which may be suspected to be used for luring the voters and also may affect the free and fair conduct of election.

Cash seized above ten lakh are being recommended to Income Tax department and till date six such cases have been recommend to IT department for further investigation. Two case have been seized by FST amounting to Rs. 1111200/= and Re. 1030000/=, two by police amounting to Rs. 1450000/= and 1000000/= and two by SST amounting to Rs. 3490000/= and 1150000/= respectively.

The first seizure was done in papum pare district on March 13 by capital police. second seizure was done by FST in East Siang on March 15, the third recovery was made by SST  in Longding district on March 19. Forth seizure was done on March 22 in Lower Subansidir district by FST while firth seizure in Papum Pare rural on March 28 by SST while the sixth seizure was made by Kurung Kumey Police on March 28 respectively. Darang said.

Around 94,597 bottles of Beer, IMFL and liquors have also been seized alongwith other objectionable items. He added.
