Arunachal Elections: Group Clash during election campaign in Seppa

Group Clash  between supporters of two candidates in Seppa, 5 injured, 7 vehicle damaged, 3 case registered.

Reported clash between supporters and workers of two political party during election camping in Seppa leaving behind damage of seven vehicles and injuring five people in the Seppa township the district headquarter of East Kameng on Saturday.

DGP Arunachal Pradesh SBK Singh inform that there was a report of clash between the supporters and workers of two candidate of two different political party in Seppa of East Kameng district on Saturday. Situation  as of now is by and large peaceful and extra force have been deployed in all vulnerable area of the township to contain any outbreak or escalation of any violence in the area.

Meeting between two candidates and their election agent and leaders  was organised today and they were ask to check such violence in future,  Peace committee was constituted with five members of both party and candidate who will take care of their  supporters and workers during the election campaign and the peace committee will monitor and check that no such violence is erupted. DGP added.

Meanwhile East Kameng SP Vikash Kumar said that on recipe of information of clash between supporters of two candidate at Seppa township on Saturday night we have tried our best and control the violence for further exclamation in the area. Seven vehicles were damaged  during the clash while Five person  received injured in the clash. He said.

Both party candidate and their election agent were asked to sit and discussed the matter and direction were given to control their workers at the level and they were also ask to monitor their campaigning so that such clash or violence do not repeated again. SP added.

Meanwhile, East Kameng Deputy Commissioner  cum district Magistrate Guarav Singh Rajawat have issued a statutory order imposing CrPc 144 prohibiting movement of people from 5 PM to 6 AM in group not more than four person.

All vehicle owners and vehicle going toward Itanagar/Tezpur  and tour operator should obtain one tie flying permit from EAC (MV) against their vehicle atleast one hour before embarkment.

The order further said that any group or person roaming in the township under suspicious  circumstances will be apprehended and detained by the law enforcing agency and patrol party.

DC further said that the statutory order have been enforced as poll related group class have been reporting  from different location of Seppa township and it is also apprehended that such incident may further takes place. The order added.
