Arunachal: Dy CM Chowna Mein calls on the Governor

Governor emphasises on the timely allocation of necessary fund for the developmental works to the concerned departments.

The Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 17th November 2019. State Minister for Civil Supplies Kamlung Mossang was also present in the meeting. They reviewed the developmental programmes and projects, law and order issues and civil supplies position, including for Vijoynagar in the State.

The Governor reiterated on proper monitoring and implementation of projects within a time frame. He suggested for regular review meetings to ensure speedy progress of the projects, particularly the road projects.

The Governor emphasised on the timely allocation of necessary fund for the developmental works to the concerned departments well in time, so that the last-minute rush of release of funds at the close of the financial year is obviated.

At the same time, there should be a strong mechanism to prevent leakage or misutilization of allocated public money, the Governor said.  The Governor has also communicated to the State Public Accounts Committee Chairman Ninong Ering, MLA for the same.

The Governor also discussed about recent incidences of law and order in the eastern part of the State. He advised the Deputy Chief Minister to further strengthen the age-old amity and goodwill amongst people from different communities in the State.

The Governor advised State Civil Supplies Minister to streamline the Public Distribution Systems, so that every citizen of the State, particularly those in remote areas like Taksing, Monigong, Chaglagam and Vijoynagar, gets regular supplies of essential commodities.

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister, who has recently returned from his District Tours, briefed the Governor about various projects which have been successfully implemented and also different stages of some vital ongoing State and centrally sponsored projects.
