Arunachal CS Shakuntala Gamlin appointed as secretary of the department of empowerment

The Chief secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Mrs Shakuntala Gamlin will be the new secretary of the department of empowerment. She appointed as Secretary, Dept of Empowerment of persons with Disabilities.
Mrs Gamlin is the first lady IAS from North East to reach a Secretary level post in the central ministry.

Mrs Gamlin is the first female IAS officer from Mishing tribe of Assam. She is the daughter of former Assam MP, Lalit Kumar Doley, and the wife of former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Late Shri Jarbom Gamlin.
Shakuntala Gamlin is a post-graduate in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University.
