Arunachal: Chowna Mein expresses deep shock on demise of Kangir Jamoh

Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein expressed deep shocked and sorrow over the untimely demise of the President, Adi Baane Kebang Late Kangir Jamoh who passed away on Tuesday evening in a private hospital at Guwahati.

In his condolence message written to the wife of Late Jamoh, Smti Padmeswari Jamoh, Mein said that Late Kangir Jamoh was an illustrious civil servant who served the State Govt as a Circle Officer before retiring from the Govt Service and joining politics. He was an astute politician and active social worker too, who quit active politics to serve the society selflessly.

Mein stated that he was looked upon as a fatherly figure by the brothers & sisters of Adi Community. As a leader of Community Based Organizations and being served as the President of Adi Baane Kebang for two consecutive terms, he started many initiatives for reformation of Adi customary laws and also for preservation & promotion of indigenous faith & culture, customs & traditions which shall be remembered always.

He will also be remembered for his untiring efforts to bring unity among different tribes of the State and for spearheading movement against drugs addiction and other social evils prevailing in the Tribal Society, Mein added.

He further added that his untimely demise has created a vacuum in the society which would be difficult to fill-in for many days to come.

Mein conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and also prayed to Almighty to bestow enough strength to them to cope with the irreparable loss and for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
