Eleven members team of Rang Adventurous Team (RAT) under the aegis of Rang Welfare Society (RWS) embarked on a trekking expedition with the theme ‘Guarding Kapuk Yarbe’ from Rang Village to Richukrong in East Kameng district December 31 to January 4 to explore the flora and fauna in the mountainous ranges and to see the future possibility of development of trekking routes between the two places of tourist interest, said a press release received here today.

The trekking team started its trekking expedition from Rang Village at 8 am on December 31 crossing Kapuk Yarbe which is at 1100 meters above sea level (ABL).

Kapuk Yarbe is the highest mountain range as seen from Seppa town which has connecting foothill range to villages like Hamba Pinda, Lachung Yangje, Loffa, Rang, Tagrung Yangje, Nachawa, Fangche, etc. The highest point of Kapuk Yarbe offers beautiful panoramic view of Seppa town and its surrounding areas.

The trekking distance between Rang, Seppa and Richukrong is about 20 to 25 KM only whereas by road the actual distance between the two places is more than 50KM. A trekking route, if developed, between the two places could attract adventurous tourists with proper promotion.
