The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP party president Amit Shah, and BJP lawmakers to observe fast today against the disruption of budget session of Parliament by Congress and its allies.
The state unit of Arunachal Pradesh also observed the Fast. State BJP president Tapir Gao, Dy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein alongwith other party leaders and workers sat on fast in IG Park in Itanagar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will observe the fast but that would not stop him from continuing routine official work including inaugurating 10th edition of Defence Expo in Chennai at Tiruvidanthal, in Kancheepuram district that has been on edge due to protests over Cauvery water issue.
BJP President Amit Shah staged a ‘dharna’ in Karnataka’s Dharwad, where he is campaigning for the upcoming state elections. State BJP President BS Yeddyurappa was also present with him.
Union Ministers Suresh Prabhu, Menaka Gandhi and several others sat on fast at the Hanuman Mandir in Delhi’s Cannaught Place.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal who observed the day-long fast in Thane condemned the opposition for not letting the Budget session in Parliament progress.
