Arunachal: Bill for creation of 3 more districts passed in Assembly

Arunachal Pradesh Re-organisation of district (amendment) bill-2018 passed by the voice vote, now three more district can be created. 


The much awaited bill of Arunachal Pradesh Re-organisation of district (amendment) bill-2018 passed by the voice vote after brief discussion by the members.

Responding the several suggestion on the creation of districts in state Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that , creation of district is not bad , it can bring developments in the area. But after creation of district, district should think or works for income generation which is most important at present there are 23 district but non of them has giving interest for revenue generation.

So district should make policy for the income generation , which will help the State as well as district too.

Earlier supporting  the Arunachal Pradesh re-organisation of District (Amendment) Bill- 2018 many members were participated.

Mechuka MLA PD Sona appreciating the state government especially chief Minister of State Pema Khandu for brings this bill for creation districts of Si Yomi, Lepa Rada and Pakke Kessang.

Speaking about the creation of Siyami district, Sona said that this is long pending demands of the people of that area. The district head quarter Aalo is around 200 KM away from Mechuka and more the 200 km from some village of the sub division is very difficult for the people of sub division to reach Aalo for official works.

Beside this the sub division is full of tourism potential but due its long distance from headquarter and other district its fail to explore it. So creation of district will bring development is area.

On Lepa Rada district Bassar MLA  Gogen Gadi said that , since 2009 people of that area are  demanding the Lepa Rada district and yet to create but in between 6 more news district had been created and actively functioning  within few years. Lepa Rada is under lower Siang district.

While speaking about the Pakke Kesang , MLA Biyuram Wage said that proposed district pakke kesang is like a Andaman Nicobar Island , because there is no proper road connectivity and no proper telephone connectivity till today , there are 5 circle under this constituency out of that two circle has yet to connect with electricity. So the area people demanding a district last 25 years. And the dream of people will fulfil today due to help of Pema Khandu government, he added.

Participating on the MLA Mama Natung said that to creation of Pakke-Kesang district is genuine and important demand for the people of area , because there is no proper road connectivity need development .to reached pakke- keassang we have to through Assam and anything happen in Assam peoples area are facing lots of problem. And due to sharing boundary with Assam many insurgency problem also there and head quarter Seppa is too far and its very difficult to control the area from seppa.

Area has vast potential in the terms of tourism, Agriculture , horticulture  sector and need to explore it .

Congress MLA and former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki said that district should be create after properly plan or verification. Only creation of district is no meaning if we can not able to provide infrastructure development. After creation of district government have to sanction crores of rupees for the development .

Further he also suggested the government not create more district at least 10 years so that till present district should be improve.

While supporting this three district he said that government should develop these districts as model district by using modern technology and resources.

MLA , Tapang Talo, Tanga Byaling, Pani Taram, Wangling lowangdong and many other MLA also participated .

After creation of this three district now Arunachal Pradesh has 25 district

The other district of Arunachal Pradesh are Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Kamle, Upper Subansiri, East Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang, Siang, Lower Siang, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit, Anjaw, Namsai, Changlang, Tirap, Longding.
