The Arunachal Pradesh Assembly today paid rich tribute to former prime minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Behari Vajpayee, who passed away on August 16.

The Arunachal Pradesh Assembly today paid rich tribute to former prime minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Behari Vajpayee, who passed away on August 16.

Speaker Tenzing Norbu Thongdok said the country had lost an excellent leader and a great poet with his demise.

“It was during his tenure that India successfully conducted nuclear tests at Pokhran, and renewed hopes for peace between India and Pakistan emerged with the start of the New Delhi-Lahore bus service.

“Vajpayee’s idea was to develop the North East so that India could shine in the real sense,” Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Main said.

Several law makers while taking part in the obituary reference condole the demise of Late visionary leader who have always said that the country will progress when all its region make progress specially reference to North East.

Condoling the demise of Late Prime Minister Bajpayee every one termed him as  great leader, statesmen, a poet and nationalist.

His work initiated like PMGSY, SSA, NRHM and several other project which are of great importance in rural connectivity, health and education sector of country are still in active and are yielding great achievement to the people at grassroots level.

later observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed leader and a letter of condolence will be sent to the family members, before the Speaker adjourned the proceedings for the day.
