The 41 candidates will join the respective training centers wherein they will undergo recruitment training after which they will be enrolled into various arms and services of Indian Army.

The recruitment rally was initiated after state Governor, BD Mishra (Retd), approached the Indian Army to train the youth of these far-flung areas for selection in Army recruitment rallies.

With the joint coordination of Chowkham Battalion and its District Administration under the aegis of Lohit Brigade during the month of April last, a pre-recruitment training for almost 502 candidates of these four districts was conducted. During the eight weeks, training youths were imparted training in physical tests, written exam and medical test.

Several insurgent groups in North- East India exploit this aspect and lure the youngsters to join their terrorist groups. In order to divert these youth from being misled and joining these anti-national organizations, it is very important to provide them employment and livelihood to their families.

A number of mock tests were conducted to prepare the aspiring youth and to give them the requisite confidence of passing the entrance test.
