Arunachal: APCC opposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill

APCC opposed Citizenship (Amendment)Bill, appeal state government to break silence over it.

 The Arunachal Pradesh congress Committee(APCC) strongly opposed the Citizenship Amendment Bill- 2016, which was bring by BJP led NDA Government under the leadership Prime minister Narendra Modi and passed in Lok Sabha but may not pass in the Rajya Sabha.

Stating the Citizen Amendment Bill-2016 is very much controversial and Discriminatory and Unconstitutional and it is against an ethics of the Indian constitutions.

APCC president Takam Sanjay addressing the media at conference hall of the congress bhawan here today said that instead of being development in NE region the Central BJP government from 2014 after assuming power in centre, the BJP has creating communal tension, hatred , arrogant   particularly in the North East region.

It will bring more problems by bringing this Citizen (Amendment) Bill-2016 as the congress party have boycotted this bill and shall continue to opposed in future also, because it is not in the interest of the indigenous people of the state and the region. Sanjoy said.

This bill will develop more complication in NRC issue is Assam, which is going on to check the illegal migration in the State

This is last minutes politics of the BJP,  and the BJP is not going to benefits’ anything from this bill, only create communal tension among the people of  NE region, he added.

Questioning about the silence of state BJP government, Sanjay said that this bill will create big problem in Arunachal Pradesh and may change the demography of the state.

Strongly rejecting the bill Sanjay appeal the CM Pema Khandu, and  to passed a resolution against the Citizen (Amendment) Bill-2016 as like Meghalaya have done, appeal to break silence in the interest of the indigenous people of state.

Sanjay also appreciated the Asom Gana Parishad has parted ways with the ruling party in Assam (BJP), and decisions of  National People’s Party chief Conrad Sangma on this bill. Who had raised concerns on the bill and cabinet also passed a resolution against bill.
