Arunachal: ANSU demands strict checking of Inner Line Permit

All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) today demanded for strict checking of Inner Line Permit (ILP)in all police station area of capital complex and it’s surrounding.

In  a written appeal to both Capital Deputy Commissioner and Papum Pare the ANSU President Toko Takam and General Secretary Tukbom Ligu said that there have been many report of serious illegal migrants in the capital complex and rest of the district which takes the entry through Gumto, Kimin and Hollongi check post and its area without procuring ILP.

Strict and proper checking are not performed at the police check gates and as of the reason there is a huge influx of illegal migrants in capital complex in form of labourer, carpenter and house maid etc, which is complete breakdown and violation of Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act 1873 the letter said.

The students union urged for proper verification of the documents of ILP application and engage respective magistrate to carry out immediate ILP checking in and around periphery of capital complex and take necessary action against the violators as per law they added.

Meanwhile in an order issued by Lower Siang district Deputy Commissioner A K Singh vide order No-DC/LSD/JUD-01/2018 dtd-Likabali  May 9 2018  to all police station under his jurisdiction that  information have been received that Bangladeshi and Rohingia Muslim are planning to sneak into Arunachal Pradesh in the form of labour, carpenter, mason etc. after they have been identified/discarded of NRC in Assam.

Therefore, it is hereby ordered that ILP should be issued to the outsiders after proper verification of documents related to domicile/identity proof and Police verification report from native Police Station of the applicant by Officer-in-Charge of ILP Section. In absence of any of the above documents no Inner Line Permit shall be issued.

Further, intensive Police checking of ILP should be launched by the Officer-in-Charge of respective Police Station within Lower Siang District with immediate effect and outsiders staying within Lower Siang District without ILP and proper document should immediately be identified and deported beyond Inner Line jurisdiction.

All construction agencies involved in infrastructure development within the district should ensure that the outside labourers engaged in the work must have valid documents to prove their domicile with proper police verification.

All the local contractors are hereby ordered to take all preventive measures to ensure that foreign national are not engaged in any construction work, failing which necessary legal action will be initiated against the defaulters, the order added.
